Can someone please snap a picture of car play while in use on the idrive display? Mine is not showing full screen and doesn't seem right.

I had some coding done to solve some other issues and believe carplay was messed up. Just need to be sure. I am an Android user so I don't know what it looked like before.

It's not full screen, at least on mine. It features a "split screen". I'd say 60/40%. So for example, I have Google Maps on the left hand side occupies 60% of the screen and Pandora on the right hand side that occupies 40% of the screen. I can snap a picture in few hours.
Though, when I turned of split screen, it still utilized only the left side and showed blank screen on the right...

the apply carplay is not full screen from the factory

if you have a certain version of idrive that If I remember is "O" or any letter after that, you can do some software coding to make it full screen. I did this with my M2 Comp. You need the esys (ethernet to obdII) cord (buy off amazon) and then to pay some coding company (many bimmer coding companies) like 50 to 75 bucks and they will make carplay fullscreen.

will they need some up front work from you like sending your log to them so they can adjust it? That I am not sure as I am sure there are at least some differences between Toyota and BMW (like it says toyota connect, and pictures of a supra etc.) but the main parts that they need to adjust should be the same so I am sure they can do it for the Supra too

that is how I ended up at this point, I was already having coding work done and it seemed to get worse after the fact. It's now centered on the idrive display. That's why I was looking for a picture of what factory is. I got all the video in motion and screen mirroring done so I can still use Android auto apps, and also looking into adding things like tach to the hud. Auto start in sport is high on the list as well.

Not full screen on this or the 8.8 on my JCW. I am running iOS13 where they have revamped CP and this is disappointing but it looks great on my Audi ( which is not wireless) BMW 1 step forward and one back. Although the latest 3 series is a full display on the 10 inch screen.

The latest iDrive version allows fullscreen, but the slightly older version on the Supra will not.

Yes, I know a few folks on the BMW forums have coded it too.

I thought the latest CarPlay update out next month makes it full screen?? I haven’t followed it too closely, but know there are supposed to be some pretty big updates with it.

The split screen / full screen aspect is controlled by the iDrive software (note that what's on the other side of the split isn't CarPlay content). It's really about the size of the virtual display that the vehicle provides to the iPhone, and whether it's the whole screen, a portion, a 4:3 subset, etc -- that controls how CarPlay renders and presents itself.

iOS 13 does have some cool new features and will be a big upgrade.
