Update: The app is working again and got a facelift.

However, unless you have access to your new Supra, you can’t activate the app, as you need a pin that gets sent to the car when you register your VIN.

Anybody have access to a Supra that can shed some light on the capabilities of the app?

Supra Connect...a bit silly

For those curious what the menu looks like. So far I’ve tooted the horn and flashed the lights from across town. Not quite sure why anyone would want to do that and truth be told can’t think of an emergency situation where someone would be pulling out their phone to do so....that being said no remote start. I got a email today from Toyota saying there is a battery guard function that will send you an email when the battery is low. I haven’t seen any info on that. Hope they will add features with time.

horn is a good idea if you also have a dash cam with live feed. Can scare potential thieves away by making them think someone is coming back to the car soon.

It’s useful if you can’t find your car I guess. I do appreciate the lock, unlock feature.

How can they not have remote start. SMH....I mean who would ever want to cool down a car that will be driven a majority of the time in warm to hot weather...???

Alas, we have heating seats for those arctic days driving across the Rockies in January...

Perhaps, everyone knew this but me, but a quick search in the App Store resulting in me finding the “Supra Connect” app.

Little bit of salt in the would, when you initially sign-up, there are about four BMW disclosures to accept. Lol

Looks like we will be able to lock/unlock, flash lights, honk the horn, see the destination of and send directions to the Supra.

There is a link for “video instructions” to the items that are available, however, those wouldn’t load on my phone....maybe they will work on a PC or aren’t live yet.

Hope this is new info to someone else besides me.

Strange thing, when I initially tried to sign-up, it said that my email was already registered...I have my 4Runner registered on Toyota.com, I am guessing it pulled my username/email from there...?
Is remote start included?

The instructional video mentions that the dealership may have created an account for you - if you provided an email address to them they may have set something up for you. If that’s the case and you don’t know the password, you can just use the forgot password feature to obtain it.

My dealership didn’t create an account for me but it’s simple to do so and set the thing up.

Has anyone else downloaded the smart phone app for the new Supra? Kinda cool, but I wish it had remote start :(

À lot of manufacturers are removing remote start because it is illegal in many jurisdictions to idle a car for more than 10s.

I didn't think about regulatory reasons for not including remote start. I know that there's a lot more regulations in Europe regarding that sort of stuff, so I guess we shouldn't be surprised. I assume it would be a hassle to have remote start on only certain cars built

That being said, my biggest complaints about the car would be no remote start and lack of Android Auto. Not a deal breaker, but would be nice to have
