So the Supra revs to 7k already. But, when i checked, the boreXstroke ratio of b58 is 82x94.6 and that made me think: with this kind of stroke, what would be the physical rev limit for b58? 7500 rpm? Share your answers please.

Depends on the springs/valves in the cyl head. N55 floats a valve at 74-7800 but S55 revs out to 8k and they're very very similar designs. I'm revving my n54 past the factory redline to 7.5k but it's known that over 8192 it's DME limited since that's the maximum value for the addressable space.

Here's the thing though: the stock turbo is out of steam and becomes a restriction that high up in flow so there's no reason to continue to rev out unless you've moved the power curve drastically to the right namely with turbo and headifold. If you've done that, then headwork can come into play to raise the flow past factory redline. With big tuner names stepping in, I'm not sure how popular aftermarket ECUs will be given how successfully BMW tuning on factory units has been but I don't know if the new b58 ECUs will have the similar restriction of ~8200 rpm max limit in the DME.

Oh ok, thanks for the reply. If the management is not a problem, this might rev to the ranges of s54. Time will tell if course.

Valve float is especially an issue with increased boost.
