Impressive ... However I really wish they would be more upfront on the mod list hate that BS lol.

Also they went from an 11.1 at 124 to a 10.7 at 128 ... not saying nitrous was used (I Know Meth was used lol) but where did another 4 to 5 mph come from when other shop MKVs are barely trapping in the 120s with similar mods .....

Things are getting very interesting now.

There was some weight reduction as well (at least passenger seat) but agreed the significant increase in trap speed raises a lot of questions. Their 60' was also significantly better than everyone else, so they're definitely on the right path, whatever it is. It's very early and everyone is still pretty guarded. Once everyone starts backing up against the same wall then we'll see more transparency.

The gloves are starting to come off and word now is yes -- the 10.7 @ 128 was on spray. :coffee:

Also, IP is now running 10's -- no nitrous:

There's nothing complex about a W2A intercooler, even CXRacing sells them. Obviously you wouldn't put one on this car but I think it is a good example showing how affordable the manufacturing has become
Actually on the A90 Supra it is complex. This water-to-air system has an intercooler manufactured inside the intake manifold and uses a water-to-air heat exchanger up front. The intercooler "brick" is not removable and the intake manifold was formed around it and sealed. This intercooler will, at some point, be a restriction and upgrading this will require a CNC/fabricated intake manifold and is much more involved than you think.

No it is exactly as complicated as I think it is and my comment still stands. S55s have had aftermarket W2A intercoolers for years now and are even affordable with several in the $500-$600 range.

Glad to see the car is responding well to BPU!

I think this is plenty fast for most people and hopefully remains reliable at this power level. Question for you guys more familiar with this engine... What do you do when the IC starts to fail or you want to upgrade it?
I see this going a couple of ways. I work in this industry so my opinion is based on working with OEM's and providing large scale private label thermal management solutions. The first 2 options will be for people wanting to achieve power levels beyond the OEM W2A intercooler's efficiency range.

1. New CNC intake manifold with integrated larger intercooler (check out Frankenstein's intake manifold). This is obviously not for a German vehicle but the aftermarket will eventually have their version of this. Water in/out ports on the intake manifold.
https://frankensteined.net/shop/iceman-billet-intake-manifold/

2. Some will build air-to-air intercoolers as those have also proven to be effective but will still have to design an intake manifold to delete the OEM W2A system. One pro will include eliminating a lot of the hardware associated with the W2A system. Less responsive because of the longer charge piping but much more simple.

3. Some aftermarket heat exchangers (not intercooler bricks) will be released but the problem with an upgraded turbo/higher horsepower builds is that the intercooler will still be the restriction at a certain power level. They will probably release some ice tanks to try and alleviate some of the IAT's seen with the OEM intercooler. I'd imagine you could still do 650-700 (efficiently) with the right setup but only time will tell.

Either way I'm excited to see a lot of action on the A90 and the aftermarket is literally in a race to outperform each other. We all win here. Haha

No reason to get butt hurt here but unfortunately you are wrong. S55's do not have the intercooler manufactured inside the intake manifold, they are a 2-piece design and only have the 2 ports coming out of the W2A leading to the lower half which is your intake manifold. The S55 acts as an EXTERNAL water-to-air intercooler and the A90 has an INTERNAL water-to-air intercooler and is one piece including all of the runners leading to the head, this is not simple and they are very different although they serve the same purpose of removing heat from the incoming charge air. Diagram attached***

To keep it simple for you the A90 W2A system bolts to the head and the S55 does not. My post was simply to keep incorrect information from getting posted about how easy it was to upgrade the system and it was not an attack against you, so please stop standing by your comment.

I did not say they were exactly the same as S55 intercoolers, it is just a frame of reference that these can be done affordably.

I did not say they were easy, I said there nothing complex to prevent them from being upgraded.

There is nothing to correct from what I have said as we are both on the same page. You jumped to conclusions on what I said you corrected those false assumptions.

Thanks, I have been looking at that diagram for 4 years now but it is always good to confirm what I was thinking and I stand by my comment.

Based on some leaked info from Chevy its looking like the $60K base C8's are in the low 11's. It will be interesting to see what you folks will do w/this platform based on where you are w/the Supra - WOW you young guys are unbelievable - CONGRATS.

I just noticed the TPG car was also running no exhaust (assume open downpipe) which is probably worth more in weight vs. power gain. So tune, drag radials, meth, nitrous, and weight reduction of at least passenger seat and exhaust.
