Called my dealer today, my car is still at sea, so that'll be a no for Monday.

They are due to have another customers car in a few days so I guess they'll have the equipment to
PDI mine when it arrives.

Not long now.
Then on to the detailer for PPF and ceramic coating. More waiting. :banghead:
Wow you got really unlucky.

I think the deliveries have something to do with orders and test drives. At my dealer there is my order (within first minute of opening and went to test drive), another that ordered very close to them opening in Jan but as far as I'm aware not day 1 and couldn't make the test drive, and another that confirmed several months later. My car has arrived, the second order was at depot just after mine and the third arrived later. Their cars have not moved from depot because they haven't had the test drive yet and likely won't be shipped until it has been completed.

Seems like if you ordered (confirmed colour and options through the website) later or haven't test driven one yet there might be a longer wait, even if your car is in the country might not be sent to the dealer and basically be artificially held until later. The way they have handled the launch has been pretty poor...

I think you're right.

They've messed my order up from day one saying I had the A90 edition!
How I would be a priority customer to make up for the error! Yeah right.

2 November 2018 I placed my reservation fee. Did Thruxton on the 2nd day where they said they'd contact me to choose colour etc. This never happened. I couldn't use my reservation number to order online as it said it had been used, when I ordered the A90!
Eventually they generated another email link for me to choose a colour and order but this was some weeks later! Hence the delay I'm guessing.
Does it really matter, no, but it's been handled so badly.
I've been close to cancelling on more than one occasion. I quick fix on YouTube is all it normally takes to keep me on track.

i must be honest - seeing what the US are doing with the supra is mainly the thing keeping me interested.

Give it a couple years and i'll have a downpipe and a good tune on it which should be more than enough.

At thruxton i thought the car lacked alot at the top end so hopefully this would correct it.

Thinking along those lines myself. Not sure how long I'll be able to resist as Litchfield are pretty much my neighbour's!

Really wanted black wheels too so some aftermarket rims with winter tyres may be part of the plan.

Dealer called mine due to arrive on Friday, 6th and will be ready for the weekend.

Weather forecast cloudy, wouldn't want to drive it home in the rain.

Just been told that Snap-On aren't going to make it to my dealer to set up the equipment until "at least the 5th". So set up on the 5th, then full PDI to complete before pickup still... Disappointed is an understatement... Car's been here 2 weeks already! Surely enough time to sort this out... Seems like the issue is on Toyota's side rather than anything dealer related, again...

Oh well, just hope things change and they can chase them up to get here sooner!

Anyone else had a text from DHL about a parcel delivery tomorrow from Toyota GB?

Feel your pain. Snap on were apparently due up yesterday according to my dealer and service department. However they didn’t show and now I’ve been told the 2nd. Toyota have not managed this launch similar issues in the US.

Email update from the dealer today to say that some equipment arrived yesterday, but other equipment needed still hasn't arrived. No mention of Snapon though, just that it's waiting for equipment.
They said this is the same for other UK dealers, but it's disappointing as it now looks like I won't be able to get the PPF done before collection, even though the car has been at the dealer for some time now.

In other news I'd also asked about the availability of the official TRD parts (https://toyota.jp/supra/customize/original1/), the dealer had asked Toyota UK about it and said they hadn't any information on this yet.

On my invoice it shows road tax as £0 as the dealer said it was included in the OTR price.

Looking at the https://www.gov.uk/vehicle-tax-rate-tables, the CO2 rating of 170g/km puts it at £530 for the 1st year, it will then be £465 for the next 5 years (£145 standard + £320 because the list price is over £40k)
