I was at costco filling up gas and an older guy and his son walked up to my car looking at it and started talking to me. He said he helped designed the car and recently retired as a chief design engineer from toyota in California. He said he worked with Tada San on both the 86 and this car, he mentioned that the initial car that they designed with California Design was longer and much wider like a lambo... he mentioned they actually had to shrink the body to mate it to the Z4 chassis
Did you happen to get his name? I know that's not even close to the first thing that crosses one's mind, but you'd be surprised who you can end up randomly meeting.

I hung out with a guy that built a vast majority of the 90's TRD race engines and didn't even know it until months later. I was told his first name, knew he was knowledgeable, and that everyone around us respected him, but I changed the way I approach people after that.

This funny thing happened to me last night when I drove home from the PPF shop. I was driving on the middle lane and out of nowhere a decked out Subaru STI drove right upto me on the right lane. He was matching my speed to check out my car. Then a Maserati grande turismo pulled up on my left side doing the same thing. The 3 of us were traveling blocking all the cars behind us. Everytime I sped up or slowed down they would match my speed. Eventually I had enough and put on sports mode and took off. It was funny.

I came down from BC Canada for the Japanese Classic Car Show in Long Beach CA in 2009 with my black 86 mk2 after finishing my engine build. There was a couple other mk2s there as well, one was a gorgeous blue 84 I believe owned by a middle aged guy. We got to talking about mk2s of course for quite awhile. Then out of the blue, he asks me what I think about Toyota of the day and what they should be doing for the enthusiast market and such. So this is fricken 2009, before any inkling of the 86 was announced, so let's just say I gave him an earful. After me ranting for what seemed like 10minutes long, he hands me his business card. Says "Director of New Product Development Toyota USA Motorcompany"

Anyways, he appreciated my input and was a really cool long term Supra guy, I think he may have even been original owner of that 84. He was working on the new TC at the time and he shared some stories of meeting and chatting with some of the OG Toyota people who were around when the mk2 was new. But yeah as you said, you never know who you're talking to so be careful how you put things lol

At that point it had just an intake and Map 3 on JB4. He says he's going to turn his boost up for a rematch but now I'm full catless downpipe and will be using MHD Tuning for a reflash. Should be in the 11's no problem next time.
Does catless throw a cel? Or does the tune override it?

I believe this is also an O2 Sensor simulator that you can plug into the existing harness.

Speaking of catless downpipe... Here is an audio clip from some tunnel runs this last weekend at Tail of the Dragon. I actually had someone hear me coming and paid me $60 to ride in it. I told him he really didn't have to pay me anything and I would be happy to let him ride in it and when he got out he dropped $60 cash and got out. The strange thing about it was that it was 60 $1 bills. Anyway enjoy!

Here's my story: was driving to work last week. Some guy in a Hyundai in front of me literally comes halfway out his driver's window and yells "Is ThAt A sUpRa!?" I swear I thought he was gunna fall out of his car. He looked like the monster energy type of Kyle lol. Anyways, I gave him a thumbs up and he followed me for a little bit to get video of the car. I'm pretty sure he missed his turn because I saw him make a u-turn in the rear view mirror. There's some Supra-crazy people out here

How many times it’s been that I check the rear view mirror and some dude is filming the car. I mean they’re shooting video because they’re holding the phone for a long time.

So my question is: where are all these videos going? Social media, I presume. I find that amusing.
