I just got the car and haven't dug through owner's manual for possible fixes (but I have looked at iDrive menus without success).

- Would prefer full screen on reverse camera

- Would love more screen brightness on display above dash - can't read clock, etc.

Is the backup camera only half the screen?

I'm not %100 on the ratio but it is not full screen. I can't exactly remember, and I don't wanna go get in and put it in reverse, but the display shows other info at the same time such as the 360 degree radar which imo is useful when reversing.

I had the same problem with the screen brightness. When the sun hits my screen it's really hard to see. And I constantly check for tire pressures because NJ/NYC roads are garbage!

oh and also you can't plug in the dash cams that are plugged in the OBDII ports (most OBDII port dash cams are parked mode dash cams for theft and vandalism), because if you leave anything plugged in the OBDII port and lock the car the alarm will activate according to the owner's manual. So I guess you can plug it in obdII but you have to take it out once you're leaving the car.

I don't like the location of the START button, its sort of hidden from view behind the wheel. My RS3 is on center console and just easier to deal with and I prefer easier.

I keep bumping my head getting in, I need to keep working on that

The tailgate sometimes needs to be slammed shut

I don't understand why they wasted the dash display area with a huge display of the door open when they could have placed Nav/media etc in there and made in flexible

I wish there was a tach in the HUD. My JCW has one and I know M cars do....

That's about it...for now.

Oh, I wish the aftermarket was better prepared. ;)

May I add one more....

Unless you have arms the length of the Golden Gate Bridge pulling the door closed once your seated is really going to strengthen your core!

My touchscreen is losing Bluetooth suddenly after a few minutes of driving and needs to be re-paired to the device.

If any Toyota rep is looking at these forums, it'd help them also other people in the same boat, if you lay out the details of your device. iOS/Android + version, brand, etc..

Does anyone know what TPMS wheel sensors are compatible? Standard BMW sensor? Special Toyota mucho expensive unobtainable sensor?

Thanks John V

From Jackie dings YouTube channel, I seem to recall the BMW tpms are the ones. Sounds like the were cheaper than the Toyota alternative but I have not confirmed for myself

Not sure if these are quirks, but things I have noticed:

1). The upgraded stereo sucks, lots of rattles. Once you get the music loud enough it drowns out the rattles and sounds better, but low volume is pretty bad.

2). Tach in HUD would be nice

3). Adaptive cruise control is sweet. I know lots of cars have this sort of ā€œlaser cruise controlā€ nowadays, but it was my first time using it and I highly recommend it.

4). Owners manual mentions, setting up email to flow through the car, I canā€™t even find a setting for that. There was one setting that you can select what services you want and email is one of them, but no where to bring up email or log into emails....??

5). Turning off the car completely, is a little odd. Must BMWs you hit the start/stop button again, with your foot off the brake to shut down the electronics, not in this puppy.

However, after reading in the manual, it appears that if you turn off the car and then activate the parking brake, it should shut everything off. I didnā€™t test that. (I was turning on the parking brake with the car running)

What I did test, is that you can hold the stereo volume knob in for a few seconds everything will shut off.

6). ScreenMirroring, sometime I see the option, now that I am trying to figure out what I can mirror, I canā€™t even find the option to choose it.

7). Phone is trapped in the charger if you plug anything into the 12v plug.

However, this might be a good thing, as the 12v outlet is always powered. Meaning if you plug something in there it can drain your battery. So, I guess, having my phone locked in there is a good way to remember to unplug stuff.

They utilize it a little bit for Nav, but only when you are running nav guidance through the Supra nav system. (Not Apple CarPlay).

Even with this use, they could have done a lot more, like have the nav map there the entire time rather than just highlighting turns...
