Call me crazy - But I swear the car sounds a little meatier, little louder once I hit 700 miles.

Yesterday I turned 700 miles... the only other thing is I got gas somewhere else and it was 93 octane - but all the gas I have put in has been 93 octane.

Anyone else notice the car get louder \ meatier after a few hundred miles?

engine is getting broken in.
If that is the case - I really am liking it. Whether real or I am imagining it - I like it. More throaty, louder and more pops. Power feels better off the start too.

being BMW you will know when it's broken (gauge cluster and MFD will be like a christmas tree/ticker tape parade)

My butt dyno noticed a signifcant increase in performance right at 2000 miles...

However, that's because I dropped it off for ceramic coating at 1999 miles, drove my F350 and 32ft gooseneck trailer to the track for the weekend...then came back and picked up my Supra after a few days. :D

I own a LE supra, and I too noticed a difference in the car once I hit about 900 miles. Exhaust is definetly different. I can hear the turbo spool now and the crackles went from burbles to gunshots. It actually feels faster as well. I thought I was going crazy, so I had my friend that rode in it the day I got it ride in it last night. He agrees that it feels amd sounds like a totally different car.

I'm at 500km. I'm noticing more turbo spool noise so far and a bit more seat-of-the-pants power.

I can agree that the car is louder past 700miles. I do hear more turbo spools and pops are louder on downshifts

I've got just shy of 3k miles (5k KMs) and the car definitely feels like it has more power than when I first got it. Now if I launch the car the backend gets pretty squirrely. My scientific butt dyno is at least happy ;)

I haven't noticed any power increase but the exhaust has gotten louder than when it was brand new.

The packing etc probably moves around and frees up.

I've found mine is only loud for the first 5-10 min of driving then the crackles are few and far between. They're like very pronounced like gunshots when cold.

crackles are louder when cold, leaving the supra club meet a few nights ago was quite embarrassing. sounded like a P-plate golf.

How many km on yours now Mark?
