Anybody care to share what your monthly payments are? How much did you put down? How long is your loan agreement? Interest rate? Anybody paid straight cash for the car?
Negotiate as much as you can on the purchase price. Then if you decide to finance, get a good rate(credit unions have pretty good rates at the moment) Going in with a monthly payment is usually a terrible idea. 1000 a month over 60 months is not the same as 900 a month over 84 months.

Plan on financing my purchase... If I can keep my purchase price down, I'll probably be right around $875, with a purchase price of $55k @72 months.

My dude, if you have to spend a quarter of your lifespan just to pay off a loan... why not just save up some pennies and buy it for less total cost later? Or even buy used when someoneā€™s 2 year lease is up?

Itā€™s not my business clearly - but make sure you have spending money to keep sane and healthy.

Take this from a guy who used to eat ramen noodles for car parts in his youth. Not a positive memory.

It's sound advice...I'll be replacing a useless large truck payment anyways. But i typically swap cars every couple years and Im due for a midlife crisis sports car. I'll come to my senses after a year or so. :)

I will be financing mine when it comes in. I invest the money I would've spent on the car. Interest rates are so low, it costs virtually nothing to borrow on a car, while my return on an investment is much better than what I save by buying a car for cash. So by borrowing to buy a Supra, I'm making money
This guy gets it. NOT having a payment is not always the best option financially speaking. I financed for 60 months.

I would hope that most people arenā€™t investing their 6-12 mos. of reserves, but if itā€™s their 5 year money, some market exposure would certainly be appropriate.

Agreed. Too bad so few, even those "in the market" for a 50K car unfortunately, actually have 6-12 mos. of reserves (especially without tapping into retirement account money).

So what was your financing rate? I don't think financing on Supras are cheap like other cars.
