Left low beam malfunction

Got in the car before driving home just now and this popped up before I even started it.



Anyone have a similar issue?

First rain since I got the car - maybe weather sealing issue?

Just took it out after dark. Headlight on the driver side definitely out as are left indicators and parking lamps. Everything dead on the left.

Set up service appointment. Will keep the thread updated as things progress.

I'm curious to see what the wait time is on a headlight assuming it does need to be replaced. As far as I can tell there are currently little to no parts for Supra or Z4 available in the US.

Yeah that concerns me. I may take the car with me if they need to source a part. My dealer charges $32 a day for rental car. Not used to that coming from German premium brands with free courtesy loaners...

I had exactly the same issue on the day I took delivery of my LE #327. Problem is intermittent though, dealer opened a case with Toyota but could not replicate nor fix the issue?!
Just weird!

Mine is not intermittent at the moment, we’ll see if it goes away. If it does I’d strongly expect the water/rain explanation (if it works later that would correlate to the car drying out).

If every single light is out in the unit, I'd suspect either a gross wiring problem, connector fell off, ground problem, or computer/software problem. These units are really complicated with a bunch of pins on the connector, so for all of the unrelated lights/functions to go out at once sort of narrows it down to something common and/or comprehensive. With any luck maybe it's a connector that came loose.

There is no reason they should charge you for this if they need to keep your car. It’s not like this is a routine maintenance appointment. This is not your fault and an inconvenience to you as a customer of theirs. If they charge you I would let Toyota USA know or find another dealership if possible.

You need to find a better dealership. Mine would cover that for free. When my FR-S didn't survive the recall, I had various loaners from them for about six months.

Car went in this morning. Was out of town last week so couldn’t get it in until today.

They did give me a free rental so false alarm with the earlier comment.

So far they’re stumped but we’ll see how it goes. I had to go into the work area to get my toll pass, it looked like they had removed the passenger seat. I guess they need room for diagnostic equipment?

I just got 4 automated emails referencing special order parts being procured for my car:

1 x COMPUTER, LIGHT CONT
1 x UNIT, HEADLAMP W/GAS
2 x COMPUTER ASSY, MULTI

Not really. It appears they’re gearing up to replace stuff until it works. Throwing spaghetti at the wall so to speak.
