So they´re planning to reach 1000hp with stock cams and basically a stock head... jesus.

Sorry if I’m missing something, but does E85 inherently increase engine failure from torque? Or is it just you can run more boost and timing?Yes, that's probably the biggest factor I'm seeing these days - newer turbo tech and E85. I'm a little worried about my rods with 23psi at 3400rpm haha, and I haven't even put E85 in yet.
The other trick to keeping them happy is ramp the boost and timing, so it's quite soft around peak torque but then cranks in at higher rpm. You keep the bottom end safe, but you get the power figure.... but that shape of torque/power curve isn't for me - but each to their own.
Really? That will be a hell of an achievement if they are planning it on stock head and cams. 1000hp on stock bottom-end (block, crank, rods, pistons) is what I am betting my money on....what I have always said.So they´re planning to reach 1000hp with stock cams and basically a stock head... jesus.
Yes to stock cams but the head had porting done and has upgraded valves/springs.So they´re planning to reach 1000hp with stock cams and basically a stock head... jesus.
The coils didn’t surprise me tbh, but the use of stock bearings was questionable. I know he’s going after 1000hp on as many stock components as possible, but when your that far tearing apart the block, why not put in some race bearings?Yes to stock cams but the head had porting done and has upgraded valves/springs.
Also in the above video, anyone surprised he put the stock coils back in? I was assuming he'd upgrade to some motorsport spec.
Yea, I think that it will last at least one day on the dyno, which is his ultimate goal.Stock coils should get the job done just as OE 2J coils have done all the way past 1000whp. As for bearings, he or someone else would probably have to design some and given the stock ones are coated they might be alright for the time being.
Ha!....I know what you mean...lol.He talks like every sentence is a question. I know he is a very knowledgeable engine builder. He's been doing it for a long time but when I hear people talk like that, it's hard to pay attention. Are they asking me or telling me?
