Admittedly i should have a picture and can upload one if people are confused as to what i am describing. Dead center on the hood and just under the hood line (so facing you as you sit in the car if you look down by the windshield wipers hood center) i have noticed a ~1/8” hole. It is not capped with anything and very noticeable once you know it is there. Is this normal or is this an LE accident? Also, would it be wise to plug it?

ok pictures. The hole seems pretty rough, almost like it was drilled from the inside out.

I can't hardly see it and never noticed it before, but mine has the same hole. Assume it is just normal manufacturing artifact. There ya go....got off my fat butt and went to the garage (for a beer) and confirmed it is normal. The title of this thread may be why you got 132 views!!

Probably a drain hole or weep hole. Could be there to drain water in an oddball situation or was used to drain the hood during manufacturing when the car body got dipped in a bath prior to painting. Or maybe it was used to help position/locate the hood part during assembly. There are holes all over cars for reasons like this.

I just confirmed that I also have a hole. It's always been there as far as I can tell it's intentional.

On a side note, I think that this thread probably ties Denton's thread "Rubber Protection" thread for worst (best?) thread title on this forum.

That's what i was thinking too, similar to the holes on the door rubber strips to help drain excess water or just a weep hole. However, it looks like a plan b, maybe at the factory, discovered after their water intrusion test.

You know the holes on the weatherstrip are to allow air to escape when they compress!
Hence why there are 2 holes. That would suck to trying to close the door with air trapped in there like an inflatable raft.

“Supra’s real hood vent, or russian soyuz sabotage drill hole. I report you decide” would that have been a better title?

I saw the post, but wasn't next to my car at the time and holy crap man how did you even see that hole?
Even with the picture you provided, I had to really look for that whole from the outside of the car to see it.

I really inspected after the windshield was replaced otherwise i probably would have missed it. Because it is rough to the touch (like it was drilled from the inside out) i didnt think it was normal
