Those dyno results seem a little off. We'll see what the norm is once the production cars hit the road. 11s btw are impressive no matter what the claimed power is. It's also a heavier car then its predecessor, and only marginally more power. Its increases in quater mile times, and 0-60 too of course, come from more weight over the rear axle. But I freakin knew it, in a test in the new Car and Driver I believe it was, the thing oversteered like a pig. They tested it against a c7 z06 and the old car had a better skid pad number and better braking numbers. Sure the new car matched the old one in Motor Trend's comparo where they put it up against the old base model (with a conventional slush box no less), but engineers are never content to just beat the old version of the car, they want the new base model to beat the old performance model.

I'm not a Corvette guy, but if I was looking to get one, my favorite thing about the c8 would be how much it's going to devalue the (superior) c7 zo6s. I definitely like the interior in the new car, but I prefer the 50/50 weight distribution of the old car and the exterior styling. Another funny thing that came out of those comparos, the editors felt the old car actually provided a less obstructed view of the road then the c8. Funny because that was one of the benefits of going mid engine GM cited for doing it in the first place.

Car and driver came out and said that they screwed up on the dyno results. They said it’s pretty much dead on what Chevy claims it has

Interesting! Sounds like they are gambling that the number of buyers who option up with high margin extras will cover the cost of the base models that go out the door. This doesn't surprise me at all either, seeing what this car looks like under the skin. Its not built like a conventional car in this price range, its frame looks more like the new NSXs and such, $$$.
