What type of ‘break in’ driving did you do?
I pretty much followed the book. I am sure I had a few blips over 4500rpm, but definitely stayed conscious of it and tried to avoid it.

Luckily the drive to my house from the dealership was 1,000 miles, so the break-in period was short, time wise.

I am too soft on my cars. After selling them I always regret not cutting loose a little more...I will have to take some pages from your playbook. :headbang:

Here's another oil analysis. My engine is all stock, and about 200 track miles on this oil. I'm going to put Castrol 5w40 (BMW LL01) in it for my next few track events and then send in a sample again. Seems like this engine might not care what kind of oil you put in it.

Last 1.6K miles was a mix of spirited back-road driving & a couple lead footed highway trips in the TN mountains.

Here's my oil analysis for Castrol 5w-40 after 400 miles at Road Atlanta. Looks like this car doesn't care what kind of oil is in it.

How did you do your break-in? Follow the manual or drive it like you normally would from day 1?

WALMART SUPERTECH 5W30 full synthetic $14 for 5 quarts. On flex fuel tune and I do track the car. Change oil every two track days, oil analysis has been great. Supertech is dexos1 Gen 2, API SN, and ILSAC GF-5 approved. Only reason it's so cheap is because they pay zero for advertising, distribution, or race sponsorships.

Confirmed with some other drivers at the track I go to that they have been getting lead in their analysis after using the unleaded 100 octane there. Supposedly the tank for the unleaded race fuel used to be the tank for the leaded race fuel. So am confident that the lead in the sample is from fuel and not from bearing wear.
