just curious, but how much did it cost

The Lexus Dash Cam is installed through the dealer, as a dealer installed accessory, and is not a factory option. The following are Lexus Canada part numbers, so may be different in the US. They are: PK6A3-33HL0 Dash Camera, and PK6A4-33HW6 Wire Harness. These are carried in stock by my dealerās Parts Dept.Boomer64, do you happen to have the Lexus part number for this factory dash cam accessory? I've been looking into aftermarket options but I had no idea Lexus offered their own.
Further, based on your description of the installation in your MKV would I be correct in assuming that, other than having a smartphone handy, there are no further hard-wired connections needed for it it to work other than basic +12V power, Ground, +12V Accessory and applicable ignition circuit splices?
Camera $420, Harness $35, Installation $450 = $905 Cdn (including taxes, fusible links, and mini fuses). Thatās approx $670US.just curious, but how much did it cost
Anyone who installed the blackvue camera. How did you set it up? Where did you hardwire it? Front or back? Have any battery issues yet? did you install it like the video posted before? My dealer has some former BMW techs there and they're saying it might not be a good idea to install.
Not a good idea to install on a BMW/Supra or in general...? Just curious as to what they think the issue with installing is and whether this is something specific to this car or if theyāre just saying that it causes battery issues in general, because if itās the latter I feel like you could just look at Amazon reviews and see if anyoneās complaining about it killing the car battery. (I donāt think Iāve seen that raised as a prominent issue with the Blackvue; the most common complaint there has been overheating.)
The BMW techs saying it causes the battery light to always go off. Basically any thing being hardwired to the car screws with the warnings.
For the people worried about codes from the IBS it doesnt actually illuminate the CEL. The code is simply for telling you the car senses an extra current draw. You can get this code from leaving anything plugged into the car, IE- obd2 cable, radar detector, phone chargers and etc.Any updates on anyone who's got their Blackvues installed via hardwire and successfully avoided the car throwing any codes (e.g., as discussed here) due to the smart battery? I just picked up the equipment to do a hard install but wanted to make sure that someone has done this and actually had it work before I take it to get installed. Otherwise, I may just go with plugging it into the 12v cigarette lighter up front for now.
Took me 3 orders, but this was the correct one for the R7.Just wanted to report that the Blendmount camera mount that I ordered specifically for the 2020 GR Supra didnāt fit around the carās rear view mirror. Not sure if this was a one-off mistake on their part but Iām going ahead and just using the Blackvue stock-on mount for now.
For those of you with the Blackvue battery, hard wired to your carās fuse box, where did you all end up putting the thing? I currently have the Blackvue battery just kind of hanging out in my trunk in a IKEA Skubb but would prefer a better / more permanent solution if available (the only stipulation is that I donāt want to have it up front in the car, e.g. in the passenger side netting or glove box area).
Interesting. I decided to just go with the Blackvue sticky mount instead of trying to remedy things with the Blendmount one because it actually ended up hanging a lot lower than Iād expected - the stick one takes up less space on an already small windshield area. But thatās good to know that thereās an option that works for people who are interested in going that route.Took me 3 orders, but this was the correct one for the R7.
BlendMount BR7-2001R Aluminum Radar Detector Mount for Uniden R7 - Compatible with Most American and Asian Vehicles - Made in USA - Looks Factory Installed https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07W6TCML6/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_dhnRDbW9G7T3K
As for the battery, it is installed right next to the car battery, fits perfect.

As for the battery, do you have anything that holds it in place back there (tape, brackets, mount, etc.)? That looks like a really clean install.
Can you please provide some photos of what the rear camera see?I have the Blackvue setup as well. I have the dual cam for front and rear. But made a little secondary mount to attach the rear camera to the front so I can see the cabin and rear and rear sides of the car. Love it!
