Anyone have a rattle coming from the brace that runs behind the seats?

I hear a rattle that I sounds like is coming from the brace, however I am unable to reproduce the sound by shaking it, the brace appears to be tightly in place.

It sounds like a metal on metal sound...

I'm getting the dashboard buzz around 4k - 5k rpm. Some rattles from the speakers/subs too.

I think the metal noise is coming from the seat belt.

Yea, I think I am getting this too. It is on and off though.

I still have the rattle in the door pin, and the area where the belt tine comes out...pretty frustrating.

Well have some good news (for me anyway). My rattle, that I thought was coming from the brace, was actually coming from the middle snap points to the rear trunk cover.

I had it all secured down, but must have unsnapped them when I swapped the BlackVue battery.

:headbang: No more rattles, now just boomy bass. I will take crappy sounding bass over rattles anyday!

Glad your rattles are gone!!

I quadruple checked those straps and everything is on tight. There still seems to be flex at the points where the cross bar meets the chassis behind the seats, I don't know if there is a fix for that.

My dealer fixed basically 90% of the bass rattle when I dropped it off a couple weeks ago. They took the mat apart and added more insulation and it really did the trick! So sound system can be enjoyed more now.

The door lock rattle is unbearable right now, I NEED that fixed, but I don't want to pull it apart myself and mess something up... :(

You mentioned the straps, which is were I first looked, but everything was secured. Did you try the tabs that sit along the joint of the trunkā€™s cover? If not, press down and those should clip in.

Besides the worst sounding bass since Cavilers in the late 80s, I have most of my rattles covered for now.

For a short time there was a rattle when a seat was too far back hitting the cross member at times. Tricky part with that, is when nobody was in the seat it wouldnā€™t rattle and didnā€™t hit, I just needed to move the seat forward a hair to compensate for someone being in the chair.

How difficult is it getting more foam around the subs? Are you just shoving it in? Or is it easy to dismantle?

As many mentioned, I noticed that there was a very audible vibration coming from the dashboard area when travelling on the freeway (and sometimes on the streets). It turns out the vibration was coming from the infotainment display on mine. If I held the bottom of the display, the vibrations went away. I went ahead and took a video of how much "play" there is on the display.

To resolve, I used two (2) small pieces of 1/8" foam and wedged them between the display and the dash (on the bottom of display). No vibrations since installing.

Any other Supra owners notice this sound when driving for a little while in Sport mode?

I am thinking it is the exhaust muffler area that just gets so hot that it pings and tings until it gets cooler? My dealer said that is exactly what it is, but it is just so loud. Just want to make sure this is normal?

I think a new exhaust system will cure this issue, but we shall see.

Thanks,
-V
Happens to me.. Normal I guess and only happens after spirited drives

Wow, that is a lot of movement. I donā€™t wonā€™t to touch mine as I donā€™t have that rattle and donā€™t want to create a new rattle. Lol

After upgrading to the Frequency Intelligent catback exhaust, this sound is almost completely gone. The design of the muffler area is so much better and cooling is more efficient it seems.

Cheers,

Wrapping the door pins once with electrical tape actually fixed my door rattles. Some BMW forum guys did this in place of removing the trim piece and adding felt, so I went with this as I'm not comfortable yet with prying the trim out.

The other rattle I had on my passenger side ended up being a window key lock box that my dealer left wedged under my passenger seat. :rolleyes1:

So far 90% of the rattles seems to be gone.
