Anyone noticed that the brakes are kinda....."grabby"?
Every time when I want to back up, you slowly release your brake right? There will be an annoying and loud noise coming outta the brakes. Sounds exactly like "horns", scared my girl lmao.

I had a serious grinding and squealing noise today had to pull over and call breakdown. Typical went to move it after to a space and they eased off. Will be Garage tomorrow for a check over.

Yes, I have this effect as well.

It is only when I first start up the car and drive and when the brakes are very cold.

I legit thought I had honked or someone else was honking at me the first few times. I believe this is completely normal and a normal BMW brake "feature" if you will. The brakes work perfectly fine for me though, and yes they are very touchy, which is another BMW attribute especially during break in periods.

Thanks,
-V

Funny, I have experienced the ā€œhornā€ sound with low speed braking.

Exactly lol. I asked my mechanic and he said its the brake pad material. So no worries.
I had a BMW M2 and BMW X3 neither of them does that.....I guess its a new material?

Yep, happens to me occasionally. I would describe it as a horn, too.

Me too, but only at really fine braking. I.e. If I am slowly moving into my garage.

Once you get used to the pedal feel, it happens less and less as you know where the "slip" point is.

But yeah, HONK! It really is a honk noise.
