"Foul play between tests? None we could find. We tested the same M2 both times. The Supras were different, but after 198, when we worried there might be something wrong with the BDC Supra, we sent it to a dealer. The dealer found no mechanical or alignment issues, which some judges were certain existed."

" With a clean bill of health, we put the Supra on the nice, smooth Laguna Seca, and suddenly the old Supra, the comparison winner, was back. We can only conclude, then, that the new Supra is particularly susceptible to large bumps in the braking zone and midcorner, and it took a road like 198 to expose this nasty shortcoming."

Placebo? :dunno:
Nope. Huge difference. They came back on the racetrack, not route 198. They clearly laid out everything that went on throughout this test for MT BDC and the comparison against the M2. I only expected the car to place higher because of its results on the racetrack and other factors that I've mentioned before.

They ESPECIALLY mentioned how it's bump-free on Laguna Seca, which is 100% true.

I'm a massive fan and supporter of this Supra, but you can't fault MT for coming to this conclusion regarding this exact case of reviewing a car. They literally tried to remove all kinds of bias everywhere and they still had to make this hard decision to put the Supra last. Basically when Toyota said everything is good at the dealer that was the thing that sealed the deal. At least if they made excuses (and in a way I'm happy they didn't), they would have had a chance to change the results.

I only am perplexed about one thing and that's in terms of engineering, shouldn't a softer tuned car (in this case the Supra) handle better on rougher surfaces? Or was it just that incomplete it did poorly all around regardless of the soft suspension setup? This makes me wonder greatly.

@A70TTR can you weigh in on this?

My guess is it's whelming because he's driven cars like the Vulcan and the Jaguar Project 8
Nah, it can be a better car. No doubt. Jeremy said he was thrilled by how the car was so it's not because it isn't a thrilling car, but it has some other major/minor flaws that trip this car up. Hopefully they remedy all of this with the GRMN.
