Funny, they wouldn't even let me know what the price was with the mark up until I came in. After I told them that I wasn't interested in discussing any car that had mark up they offered to get me a premium one from jersey if I left a non refundable deposit.. (that's before I ever sat or drove the Supra). So I went to jersey and picked one up with no mark up.. idiots.Until last month I lived in New York and so Iād naturally stopped by Toyota of Manhattan to see if they had any Supras allocated. They said they had a waitlist, and so I signed up for it, but they couldnāt tell me the pricing at that time. When the LEs came in, the owner of that location picked them up and then they reached out to those of us on the waitlist to try and sell it to us. Their asking price? $99,999.
I ended up picking up an LE out of state back in July and got off of Toyota of Manhattanās waitlist, but they still text me from time to time for some reason. They just texted me again this morning and so I responded just out of curiosity to see if theyāre still trying to get $100k for their LE (itās red and is #629/1,500). Hereās how the conversation went:
Thatās too bad - your dreams couldāve come true.Funny, they wouldn't even let me know what the price was with the mark up until I came in. Now thatās how you sell a SupraThatās too bad - your dreams couldāve come true.
WAIT WHAT THE. LAST IN MT BDC??? WOAH.I would normally feel bad for doing this, but the dealership keeps texting me about the car even though I told them I wasnāt interested and already picked up an LE elsewhere, so I decided to troll a little bit, if anyoneās interested in a red LE in Manhattan for $75,000, itās yours!
(Iāve redacted personal info; I donāt actually have kids and yes, I intentionally mispelled Chiron.)
I think that half the reason this car will do poorly in terms of sales is because of the JDM purists that hate Bimmers. The other half will be because of Toyota dealerships. Hopefully this will be a lesson to Toyota (but it probably wonāt be...).I can't believe that is an actual conversation.
Incredible.

Toyota Dealer in Alabama Selling Slightly Used Supra for $167,000
182 miles on odometer.
A salesman kept telling me the car was limited. What the hell is wrong with those salespeople.... they should go and find some work at the hardware store and sell ppl hammers for blending food...
I feel like all of them are liars and assholes.
Do you guys confronted them with that bullshit they were talking? I'd love to know how they reacted.
