Does anyone know what TPMS will work with the Supra? Is it a BMW or Toyota TPMS?

BMW system and software, so follow the same procedures when going aftermarket and when relearning new sensors. People have luck with aftermarket sensors, but other folks just buy BMW OEM sensors. The training procedure is very simple and it will be easy to go between summer and winter wheels, for example.

Do you know what is the model number of those sensors? Maybe I can pick them up after market.

Toyota part # for the TPM sensor is 42607WAA01 and it's a 315MHz system. They seem to price higher than BMW but maybe you can get a discount online. BMW has both 315MHz and 433MHz systems and I couldn't get a good confirmation on the BMW equivalent part # (online BMW part catalog that had included Supra is offline).

If going aftermarket make sure it's 315MHz. Here is what TireRack offers:

https://www.tirerack.com/tpms/detai...autoModel=GR+Supra&autoYear=2020&autoModClar=

The car will be able to relearn new sensors -- look for a relearn/reset procedure in iDrive then go for a short drive on a curvy road or make a lot of turns. Accelerometers in the sensors will help the car sort out which sensor is on which wheel as you make turns. The whole process takes a few minutes.

My dealer told me the part number was 42607-WAA02 is there a difference?

Good question, I don't know -- I got 42607WAA01 from an online Toyota parts lookup this morning and it is up to date.

I just looked up 42607WAA02 on the same site and it shows "no longer available".

Does anyone know what TPMS wheel sensors are compatible? Standard BMW sensor? Special Toyota mucho expensive unobtainable sensor?

Thanks John V

Any one was successful putting on after market TPMS on the supra? I got tow put on today and it's not recognizing it. There's no menu on the idrive to reset the TMPS. Only recalculating the tires.

The shop is still trying to figure it out but my Supra is already put away for the winter. So I will have to bring it to him next spring to have it sorted out. He said it probably needs reprogramming.

Rather than start a new thread...

Does anyone know if I'll see any ill effects, beyond a tire pressure warning, if I don't have TPMS sensors in my snow wheels? I'm not at all concerned about actual tire pressure, because I'm fairly meticulous about checking that.

I am concerned about whether a TPMS absence will cause problems with traction control, stability control, etc. I'm not sure how interconnected or invasive these systems are.
