Homeless man was all excited too see the new Supra when I was driving through Trenton. I rolled down my window because he was really trying to get my attention and he went "IS THAT THE NEW SUPRA??!" I responded with a "Yes, sir" then he proceeded to tell me how he used to have a MKIV back in the day and that he loved the new car.

Didn't even hit me up for money - skipped right to the car behind me. After we drove away, gf turned to me and asked if this is why I wanted the new Supra (all the reactions it's been getting) :rofl:
Let me guess it was at the light by where the Thunders play?

Funny meeting a pizza guy on the street

Thought this was funny - Pizza guy tailed me into a parking lot. Is that a 2020 Supra? He was all excited - which is always nice for others to enjoy. I've let people sit in it if they wanted. I enjoy talking to other car enthusiasts.

I asked him if he wanted to see it - which he did - and then immediately starts saying - Wow - that is so cool. I have not seen one yet -

He said - "Thats really awesome - except:"

* It shouldn't have A BMW engine (I guess the other BMW parts are ok??)
* I wish it had a manual
* I should have had a bigger turbo
* It should have had 2 turbos
* I needs more horsepower
* I wish the interior was better
* Toyota should have developed an inline 6

I find it funny - so excited to see the car - but not enjoying any of it.
And that's why he still delivers pizzas for a living... :)

Is it really that bad? I mean how many times does one use the horn on the car. I donā€™t even remember the last time I used my car horn.
The horn is pretty bad from factory...first time I used it I was incredibly embarrassed.

I have an endless amount of stories, but here are short highlights of the best.

Driving back home at night a i noticed a trackhawk riding me. We played around and the a new m5 came out of nowhere along with a CL63. trackhawk and m5 smoked me and the CL63 wanted to pass me so badly he used the shoulder. Pretty sure they wanted to absolute poop on me which i didn't care about.

Driving home from picking up my car, I drove through the hood with both of my babies and they LOST their minds! Standing in the middle of the street taking selfies and yelling. Perfect depiction would be any Supa Hot Fire youtube video.

Like everybody else, we get a lot of thumbs up but my the ultimate one was I was driving to Jersey City my first weekend with the car. Doing some "spirited driving" I heard an a symphony of an exhaust I look to my right and see a Koeniggsegg gives me the thumbs up. I was screaming at him and he was screaming at me.

I just tell people that Toyota built a better BMW. I definitely donā€™t take the whole BMW engine/parts as offensive at all, even if thatā€™s the intent.

Yeah when ppl bring this up to be I always ask how they feel about the m3, m4, and m5. Then they talk about reliability, and I shrug it off by saying it covered under warranty so nothing to be upset about.

If he wishes the interior was better he sure as shit shouldnā€™t want Toyota to design it.

The past few days have been sort of interesting:
  • Saturday - Ran into an couple where the guy had an MKIV at home. They were nice folks, seemed to like the car a lot and had no problems about the BMW bits and were just generally excited about this type of car being made period.
  • Sunday - Some younger guys wanted to take some pics when I parked at the restaurant I went to and apparently one of them put them up on Snapchat and was asked ā€œwhere!?!ā€. So when I came out of the restaurant one of their friends was parked haphazardly with the headlights pointed toward the car. I answered a bunch of questions, but Iā€™ll be honest I was like ā€œuhh wtf happened to the carā€ when I first walked up to the situation.
  • Monday - Guy at work was sneaking pics at the stoplight towards the entrance of my work and found me when I parked to ask questions.
  • Today (Tuesday) - Filling up gas and noticed a couple in a Honda staring from the road and pull up at the pump next to me and stare for a few minutes more (without getting gas) before lowering the window to ask me some questions.
Overall pretty positive experiences so far, but thereā€™s apparently not too many others locally on the road so far. I had similar experiences when I first bought my 2013 BRZ, where I was only the third or fourth in the immediate area at the time for quite a few months. I used to get followed around a bit...

I live in NYC, and surprisingly I have yet to see another MKV Supra on the road.

Where do I start? I am in Cape Town and I believe there are only 2 Supras in Cape Town currently and also that my yellow one is the only yellow one in South Africa... I have had loads of people leaning out of cars while driving along to take snaps and videos. My car is a very popular picture-taking spot! I have often returned to my car to find people posing all over it... I had an 86 owner do an illegal u-turn and race after me just to get a good look at the car (he hunted me down as I was parking in a shopping mall and we spent 30 minutes chatting about how brilliant it is). Another 86 driver tailed me along the freeway for about 10 minutes with his phone out the window taking a video. I recently had a Golf Gti pull up behind me and try to outdrag me... Bad mistake on his part... He got nowhere close and backed off graciously once we hit 180kph.

It is an absolutely gorgeous vehicle and it deserves all the attention it gets! I am loving it!

This morning I had a nice little old lady (Iā€™m talking >70 years old) in her BMW X5 give me an enthusiastic thumbs up and then she had her phone out and was either taking pics or filming. Suuuupra.

My best was a state cop was next to me at a light and rolled his window down to tell me he likes my car.

Mine was a little old lady in a Mercedes at a gas station.

Same story here. Have not seen another A90 on the streets of Los Angeles. I was driving in Little Tokyo/ Arts District near downtown Los Angeles and a group of maybe 8 teenagers stopped and stared at my car. As I drove away, they yelled ā€œNICE BMWā€ in perfect harmony. That was cute.
