I totally agree with this.
In the UK we had to place a deposit a year before cars were delivered and 8 months before we could drive them. So I bought on the Supra name and confidence that it would be good. Had it been a 90-100k car I probably would have gone for something else ( a used cayman for 40k). We had two modern Toyotas at the time. I can only assume anyone who complained the interior was 'too BMW' hadn't been in a modern Toyota...the interiors suck!
Only 300 Supras came to the UK this year so it's a rare sight on the road. I like that.

Suprasaiyansg, How many Supras are there in SG? I have a business partner out there, we ship cars back and forth sometimes.

Hey man,

First of all, thanks for replying to my post.

From what I know, via my AD, they only brought in 26 Supra this year. Our country's car taxes are crazy, at msrp with no markups A90 Supra sells at about US$ 190-200k.

Demand here is not as good as other countries, for obvious reasons haha.

i have yet to see the Supra, but I've seen 4 G29s, I'll be sure to compare the visibility between the two and the C8 at LA Auto

If Toyota has sold less than 2000 units of these Supras in 4 months, chances are you won't see many on the road. America is a very big place to spread out 2000 Supras. Most of these are still weekend drivers, so even less chance of seeing them

I've seen 1 Z4. Downtown Portland (OR) the day before I picked up my Supra...which is still the only one I've seen in person. And I did buy it in October.

I've seen three different ones running around locally so far. Only one up close though (an LE at a local dealer). These are not high sales volume cars and I agree with ToyoBMW that most likely many are weekend cars. At the very least they are two-seaters after all.

But they also haven't been out *that* long yet. Allocations have only just recently moved past the initial constricted Launch Edition batches which were often marked up quite high.

Once Supras are into the 2021 model year I think there will be a much better idea of how "out there" these cars will be.

For what it's worth, way back in 1997-1998 I recall seeing the then-current MKIV Supras in the showrooms and occasionally out on the roads. Even during that time, at least in this region where I'm at, they were not a very common sight when you did spot one.

Also for what it's worth, while I have seen three MKV's out and about in this city I have yet to see a single Z4 yet but I figure that won't take too long to even out.

Have not seen any Supras on the road. A local dealer in the GTA has had one on the floor at MSRP for the past 3 weeks. Yes, it's Fall however people are simply not that interested. Local enthusiasts are looking for C8s. I'll keep my cash in the bank and wait until next year to buy a Supra at below MSRP. I have no interest in GM junk.
Same car still on the floor and little to no interest based on the sales people.

Local dealer has four on his lot right now. I did not purchase there but did my recall there yesterday. Sold their LE on day 1 though

It'd be a huge shame if this thing is a sales disaster all because people can't get over this being a co developed car and not having "2JZ WITH 1,000HP!!". All the bs aside, it's received plenty of great praise and reviews performance wise. This is just another example of why the sports car is dieing out.

If this car flops, the guys with LE cars would have a very valuable flop

I just saw another one at my local dealer today. A Premium I think. Black. I was told they had just received two others along with it. No LEā€™s left except one the owner of the dealer got for himself but decided he would sell.

Plenty of interest from others while I was there today. Apparently they do sell them, just much slower than a Corolla or RAV4 obviously. Little if any markup if I am correct about seeing a Premium model today.

I took a couple engine bay pics out of curiosity. I love the seating position.

What would qualify as a sales disaster since the Supra is low volume? Dealer markups seems to be the main contributor of slow sales.

If you're able to secure a LE model, then you're probably in pretty good shape. If the car is a success and better models come on board later, it'll be like the GTR where the prices would keep going up with better options. The currently LEs at MSRP won't really lose much value at that point.

If this becomes a sales flop, then it'll be a very low volume car that over time will keep it's value based on it's rarity.

I hope my analytic opinion is correct as I own an LE LOL
