Spark Plug Replacement Interval

According to the owners manual, spark plugs should replaced every 24 months. Doesn't that seem a very short time?
The manual also says the spark plugs in Korea, Mexico and South America should be replaced every 60 months. Why would there be such a long difference?

Usually with BMW's it's every third oil change.

You guys will find out very fast that good plugs and ignitions coils are detrimental to keeping these engines happy. I honestly don't go by time, only by mileage. i would guess on average people drive what, 14k worth of miles per year? i personally change plugs in my cars ever 10-12k or so. But all my cars are tuned making good power. Im in the process of stocking all needed plugs for these cars. So you guys don't get raped at local parts stores.

Long story short, DI is a little tougher on plugs.

In the warranty / maintenance manual I believe it specifies 40,000 miles only for compliance with the emissions warranty.

Is a narrower wall socket than normal needed to change the plugs? When will you list the plugs for sale?

This is the sparkplug socket I bout a few months ago, and worked perfectly when I swapped out the autolites for a set of NGKs...
