If you're able to secure a LE model, then you're probably in pretty good shape. If the car is a success and better models come on board later, it'll be like the GTR where the prices would keep going up with better options. The currently LEs at MSRP won't really lose much value at that point.

If this becomes a sales flop, then it'll be a very low volume car that over time will keep it's value based on it's rarity.

I hope my analytic opinion is correct as I own an LE LOL
Honest to god, I have no idea why an LE would be worth more than a premium. I guess, like a 30th anniversary trans am, it would hold some kind of special value... I guess i just don't see how or why.

There are only 1500 that have the black wheels and Toyoda signature on the car. So basically Toyota has to remember not to release another Supra with only black wheels and Mr. Toyoda has to die before the car is worth anything more than a Premium

Only 1500/yr or 1500 period between all future years of the MKV supra line?

I'm hoping Launch Edition means they only have 1 launch. Any subsequent years would be "special editions"....and probably will have more power and cost more money

At least it's better than the A80 15 Anniversary Edition lol (aka a plaque on the fenders and interior).

I think to some buyers the LEs will be worth more, but that generally they are the most rewarding for the original purchaser who can show they have had the car since day one.

But there are at least 3 upcoming editions of this car planned (outside of refresh), so...

Are we counting the GR supra GT4 as one of them? If so, it's not street legal.

It goes on sale here next year.

^ no, that's a racecar.

the general rule of thumb was one special edition per MY, but not sure if that's been changed. Either way, they've got three in the works right now.
Just out of curiosity, are those the Misano Blue, Matte Black, and [...]? Or are you referring to something else that's in the works that we aren't aware of yet?

Yeah I don’t really see why it would be worth more. Hey if someone wants to pay more good for them. Personally I see these cars holding value just a little better than a regular Toyota nothing like the MK IV did later on.

That's one of them (just different colors).

I agree to a point. I think depending on new policy being made around emission standards and the EV revolution driving manufacturers to change over to EV in order to stay alive will eventually give some enormous value to today's sports vehicles. Idk about anything extra specifically towards the Supra, but maybe

I agree with this. The thing about the Supra is I'm not sure if it will sell after the initial launch.

The dealerships are super annoying to work with. Heck I would've probably bought one by now If one let me test drive it.

I also don't see a lot of the older guys who buy sports cars buying one. A ton of them either want a badge (Cayman) or performance (C8 Corvette).

It also seems like from most dealerships I've been to in SoCal. They might've overorderd the car. One of my local dealerships has 4 and 3 more coming this year and haven't sold one.

If you want one in SoCal, I can put you together with a dealer that doesn't play games and will sell you a car.

But I totally agree with you many SoCal dealers make it really hard to buy this car. One up in the valleys told me once I get tired of "being played", I would go back to them and buy at 10k over MSRP. I was thinking how unprofessional these dealers are in talking that way, "being played"?? What are we, grade school people?

You guys have some rough salespeople out there. The dealer by me was very hesitant to let anyone test drive the car, however I have a friend who's a mechanic there, he possibly eased their fear of dealing with someone who just want to rack up miles test driving random cars. I think they have a legitimate fear of random people test driving with no intention of purchasing, so they try to screen the only ways they know how (credit check, proof of funds, or seeing what you drive up in). I saw on the FB group the other day some dealership was trying to sell a "brand new" premium Supra for $2k above MSRP with approximately 1500 miles on it. He claimed that the service department drove it to break it in for it's first owner :rolleyes1:
