I was cleaning my car today - As what better thing to do on your birthday!!!!! - and I noticed a very tiny bit of red on my microfiber.(Its white)

Not sure if you can see it - but this has me worried - The car has not been detailed except spray wax by hand from yours truly. This is on the door sill lip on the drivers side door. I have inspected the remainder of the car and do not see anything else.

Whats everyone's thoughts?

Wouldn't buffing thin paint make it worse?? Its not a scratch - its the lack of paint.
wax doesn't take off paint. From your picture, it just looks like debris. I don't know why your towel would have red on it, the car is covered with a clearcoat. You should try just using some wax to get that mark off.

Happy Birthday! :)
I agree, paint is rather thin. As I tried to fix few spots with spray paint A96 color, few more passes and it's a different shade. So, I think overall they left it rather thin. Luckily I haven't flaked any paint through washing, but I'll be extra cautious now.
I'd cover everywhere else and apply light coat or touchup paint pen if it bothers you a lot, but for sure, you'd have to clean and lightly sand the surface.

Yeah.... It's not debris.... It's like it's missing the clear coat. That small spot is bare of paint with an undercoat showing. Mostly worried about it over the long run.

Toyota has a warranty for paint, usually up to 5 or 6 years

If your towel had red paint on it then someone filled it up with touch up paint.

That would be my guess too, and it could come off quite easily depending on the circumstances. But it would be good to see a closeup photo that is in focus. I really couldn't see it clearly enough before.

No thinner than any other manufacturer according to one poster; "We have taken measurements of Ferrari, lambo, Mazda, Porsche...with the exception of Mazda, all range in the 140ish area. a Brand new, never repainted mazda rear anywhere from 50 to 90 microns...that is cheap/thin paint from the factory."

It is just the shitty water based paint that manufacturers have to use these days due to environmental regs, it isn't as durable as oil based paints

BMW and Tesla has some of the worst paint I have ever seen. (Ford as well)

No car is perfect, but I've seen large chunks of paint missing under fender signal lights. Dealers do all they can to pass PDI and get vehicle out the door. They are there to mass sell and not to make your new baby be in the best shape.

Every Gwagon has roof damaged. They are too tall for delivery trucks and when they offload they scratch / dent middle of roof. You won't know unless you climb up. I am 16/16 so far on how many I got damaged in last like 2 years alone.

I just finished wrapping this beauty.

Given the location, someone's shoe may have taken off the paint along the edge of the sill. I've seen this happen with my own cars.
