OEM Turbo Price!

Lets pray none of us lose our turbo for any reason. Aftermarket turbos will look like a steal. Is this just typical of new models or is it a BMW thing? It would be cheaper to buy a pure turbo upgrade and pay the couple grand core if this is the real price. This was from toyotapartsdeal.com

More like here's hoping independent aftermarket tuning companies for the MKV begin to offer factory turbo rebuilding services. There are some scenarios where you'd definitely want to keep a stock turbo handy.

Keeping my extended warranty is the only thing keeping me from draining my bank account on upgrades that would give Toyota the option to void the warranty.

I checked the price of the oem turbo on Daytona Toyota two weeks ago and I swear it said around $1300 instead.. I must of misread it. lol

yea no shortblock just a long block. its insane keeping me from modding too. well at least until its paid for and warranty is up. hopefully by then i have a for sure list of what i want to do . so many options very little research lol

I’ve heard of guys being asked to swap BMW engines for cause and the bill was mid $20K range. Don’t know details though.

Why would you just not go aftermarket by a reputable brand if the turbo died? You would have to be an idiot to pay $13k for a replacement stock turbo

Often pricing like this is the result of an automated pricing system and/or it is miscategorized. It happens frequently on new vehicles and is often corrected in time. Especially if the part gets frequently ordered.

Dealers can request a price review on a part as well.

Of course it’s also possible it’s just how it’s going to be I suppose.
