Has anyone successfully toted their young one around in their Supra yet? I see that the car has a rear anchor and is built to accommodate a car seat, and my 3 year old has been begging to go for a ride! To anyone who has done this: Did the car seat leave any imprints on the leather or damage anything? I use a seat cover, but the leather in my hellcat was very soft and ended up creasing a little from the seat.

Haven't tried it. Why not just try laying down a thick towel on the base? --Also, for the crease in your hellcat, did you try a bit of heat from a heat gun to see if the crease went away?

I tried a few different things and I was able to smooth it out a little but it was still there. I have a specific pad for the car seat that is a little better than a towel alone. I think the best solution would be to not leave the seat in the car, remove it immediately. I was just looking for any horror stories before I was the first, lol!

The leather is fairly stiff on the Supra. Iā€™m more worried about abrasions as it is polymer coated leather (BMW Dakota Leather). I think throwing a towel over the seat would more than suffice.

Funny, think you should ask bc I was looking at the manual last night about it. Its never a good idea to put a baby seat in the front seat unless the air bags can be disabled. And it looks the Supra can be.

I would definitely not throw a towel under seat due to manufacture testing of most of the baby seats. They also donā€™t recommend them. I would use a baby seat cover from Walmart if you really need to use it.

I know alittle about this topic as I took a week class to get certified in baby seat installs. Lol

I used this on my new 4 runner leather seats they didnā€™t leave any imprints. But the Supra leather idk.

And when you get the seat put in, take some photos!!!

I have a car seat cover very similar to the one you showed!

It looks to me that when you pull the seatbelt all the way out to activate the car seat lock the airbag should disable.

Obviously the rear middle seat is the safest location, but we donā€™t have one of those! My son really wants to ride in the car so even if itā€™s just around the block a few times I have to make it happen!

My youngest is just out of his car seat and in a booster now. Watch out for certain boosters that have built in cup holders. They can be too wide to seat firmly in the seat (leaving a gap between the rear of the booster and the seat back).

Axix23, I hope your car seat doesn't do what happened to our 4Runner (the dents!). Although my wife was destined the kids were launching in a shuttle to the ISS. When installing the seats she would put her full body weight on the seat and go white knuckle strapping it down.

nope, no dents with the seat covers. Lol. I use meguiarā€™s leather conditioner all the time to make sure.

about the full body weight, your not supposed to do that as the seat is tested to be overly tight as it could stress crack under impact. People tend to put their knees on it to tighten. As long as your putting a hand on it while tightening, your golden.

As long as there is not more than 1ā€ of play, itā€™s snug enough.

you guys should check into the britax clicktight line. You slide the belt through and push down and itā€™s tightened and ready to go. No pulling and fighting.

Just wanted to bump this thread. My fiancƩ and I just found out we're having our first baby. I just bought my Supra in September, so the timing wasn't the best with the car purchase.

Trying to decide if I want to keep the Supra or move on to something with 4 doors. I already have an SUV that I use for work and she has a sedan. So hopefully i'll be able to stick around here with the Supra.
