Exact same thing I am going through right now, took my car to the first service and they discovered an oil leak due to the gasket. told me to leave my car with them till they order the replacement parts from japan which will take a minimum of two weeks to a month.
Adding to what have been said ..

I visited the service center today (which marks exactly 3 weeks since I dropped my supra)

they still haven't got the parts in stock, and was promised on day that the whole thing might just take 2 weeks to a month maximum

they also can't provide any ETA and just keep saying that they will find out soon or when they actually give me a date they don't meet it (surprise surprise)

Manged to take a quick photo of the parts that are waiting to arrive:

a flange .. some bolts .. and a gasket .. needs a whole month to source

At this point am really considering leaving with my car to the nearest BMW center and see if they can help even if it will void my Toyota warranty

If your parts are replaced with OEM equivalent, your warranty would not be void. Warranty work does not have to be performed by Toyota. I cannot see OEM BMW not being treated this way unless you have a dick Toyota dealership.

The bigger question is if BMW will work on it.

yeah that makes sense for sure, but the thing is here in the middle east I think they come up with whatever rules they wanna come up with  they rarely follow the international regulations 100%

I can argue with Toyota about the warranty but the challenge right now would be finding the OEM parts and convincing BMW to take it in and work on it

Well the ME changes things. That is a little different environment corporate wise. Maybe have a conversation with your dealer first on this?

this is bad information. First of all bmw will not warranty anything on a car they donā€™t sell. Warranty work absolutely has to be done by Toyota. Iā€™m not saying bmw wonā€™t fix your car, but it wonā€™t be for free. Toyota will show you the door if you think they will reimburse you.
Your completely right. I probably worded it poorly as I was trying to say he should still have his warranty as they are the same parts, not that it would be paid by Toyota.

I went to my local bmw dealership to pick up some touch up paint since it would take two weeks to order at Toyota, they will not service Toyota, itā€™s NOT their brand. Not sure if itā€™s corporate BMW policy or just this dealership. Iā€™m sure in time this will be all moot at Toyota as they become better parts stocked and more service personnel acclimated to Supra.

Same, I just came back from a BMW service center and like I suspected they wouldn't agree to service my Supra which is understandable. Like previously mentioned it might be illegal and would put them in risk and having to pay fines and what not

so I don't have a solution at this point other than taking my car back from Toyota and go and look for any bmw specialist garage or workshop , as I won't endure waiting anymore on Toyota to source the parts

So, how many of you are having or have had this transmission pan leak problem?

Many years ago, this was an issue a friend of mine ran into with a new Chrysler Crossfire. The car was built as a joint endeavor between Chrysler and Mercedes, the car was Chrysler but the engine was Mercedes. The Chrysler dealer said they couldn't get parts because it was a Mercedes engine, when he took it to Mercedes, they wouldn't work on it because it was a Chrysler. Eventually he found a Chrysler dealer who had a "Crossfire Certified Mechanic", but he was having problems getting dealers to work on his car.

Sadly there were many more produced than are likely in the case of the A90... at least according to wikipedia (~75K in 5 years, with ~55K in the first two). No idea how things will look for the Supra in the coming years... but with just 2,884 sold in the US... I'd figure 2019 numbers are around 5-6K worldwide? Sure things will hopefully move upward from there with a full year of production and sales... but I'd really be surprised if it ever goes over 10K/year. So that's about 65% of Crossfire production if the current levels can be maintained for 5 full years.

However, on the parts side of things... those number can be considered to be effectively doubled if you include the Z4 production... so in that case maybe total production is similar and hopefully slightly greater over 5 years. The Crossfire died an early and brutal death with the last 2 years combined being barely over 5K units.
