This thread was funny bc my neighbor who put money down on a c8 says to get a c8 instead bc the supra is slow and c8 is just alittle bit more. I am not a Chevy/American guy. lol
I waited to see the c8 in person before I bought the supra, and I sold my charger hellcat to buy the supra. I have not a single regret. Okay, one regret. I miss remote start for when itā€™s cold out.

Owning a c8 vette will be cool until you show up at a meet and park next to 10 others that look exactly the same.

They are both great cars, but itā€™s clear which side Iā€™m on!

I am sure it has been noted many times, but a similarly spec'ed C8 with magna ride, Z51, 2LT would end up ~$20k more than what i paid for the A90 supra. thats like ~30% more. so silly comparison. But I owned a C7 and it was a very good car, but no thanks. Supra and and S1000RR for the same money. Thanks.

The C8 definitely looks long but that's probably due to them having a rear trunk. If they would have skipped the trunk and shortened the car it would have looked better imo.

The distance between the rear of the door and the rear axle just looks weird to me, though longer wheelbase will help stability.

If only the z06 looked anything like the c8r!
The base model is so bland in person, they will have to do something to make the z06 more appealing.

That's how I feel about the C7s as well. The Z06 is very nice looking (ZR1 even more so, but obviously a different price point), and I was tempted to wait and see what happened to prices there before I pulled the trigger on my Supra

It looks like they're going to give it a TTV8

if price was disregarded, i would take a fully loaded C8 over a supra. However, the supra is easier to live with, that's why I got it in the first place.

Id love a new vette, the ONLY reason I choose not to get/wait for one is the commonality thats coming. To me, performance aside thats more than enough. I see at least 15-20 vettes as it is daily*** I got my Supra for 49k and added a 500$ tune...its got it all, looks, performance, scarcity. I fall more and more in love with this car everyday.

I've never owned a Vette, thought I did take a close look at the C7, and have driven one. What GM has done with this redesign, at this price point, is a new industry benchmark that has competitors on their heels, like it or not. The video below, where Leno interviews the head of the C8 design team, is the most interesting content I've seen on the car. The issue of dealer markup and the reality of the $60K units is discussed. While the GM says "dealers are independent business that can do what they want", he also states that "we've talked to them regard the fact we want people to be able to buy the car at the prices we advertise". Maybe GM has warned dealers that their allocation could be cut if they price gouge, something I haven't heard of Toyota doing. The camera fed rear view mirror is a nice touch the Supra could benefit from.
