So I experienced a new issue today and am curious if anyone else has seen this. I came home today parked the car in the garage like normal, radio turned off etc. Go in the house a few minutes later I get a phone call and I answer... Except the call is going through Bluetooth not the phone.

I switch the audio source on the phone and all is fine. Walk out to the car, peak through the window and sure enough I see the active call. Tap the door lock on the handle and everything shuts off.

Seems to not be normal but nothing seems a off in the settings.

Haven't encountered a call right after parking. I'll try to reproduce later on.
Is your phone iPhone or Android. I sense it's iPhone.
Is this Apple CarPlay and/or BT connected? ...Just to get more details to reproduce...

Also, on another post, someone had MHD or other OBD tool in the socket that kept things alive. Do you have anything of the sort that would interfere?

Always lock your car to confirm that everything is shut down.
I understand what you're saying, but locking my car in my locked garage every night is not a solving the problem, its putting a band-aid on the symptom. When the car is turned off, and the door opens everything should shut down (which normally happens).

Some of this is poor engineering..... For instance, i get when i open the driver door the LCD turns on and says welcome etc. But that shouldn't happen when I use the key fob and open the trunk, or open the passenger door.

You can turn the car off instead of locking it. It will do zombie shit if you don’t lock it or turn it off.

I should have explicitly said that in the original post but I did turn the car off. Pulled in garage, put in park, turned the car off.

Did you turn it off through the iDrive option button?
The i drive setting is set to turn off after door opening. And I turn the car off with the start/stop engine button.

as an example I was just sitting in the car with it running looking at the setting with the door closed, car was in park and I bit the start /stop button to turn it off. As soon as I open the door the display says welcome....

I did read somewhere on a BMW forum that there is something to do with the seatbelt being on or off when the start/stop button is hit which may have been the issue tot when testing.

The “turn off” I mentioned is you shut the car off like most normal human beings do, then with the iDrive buttons and dial, you hit the options button (bottom right IIRC) then scroll with the wheel one down to “shut down car” or something similar.

I have the shut off car with door enabled but I still lock it as I had some odd behavior in the first week of ownership. It was just easier for me to get into a habit of locking it than to figure out what the issue was.

Nope don't do anything with idrive button once I turn the car off, nor do I want to do that every time..... but yes I do turn it off like most humans do.

FYI, you can edit your original post to include this. On the left of the post there is an "edit" button.

Many people in your situation don't do this and when the thread is 2+ pages and people read the original post for the first time then half the thread is full of people incorrectly informed with responses to an issue already resolved.. my 2 cents for "moderation" :)
