Took the Titan ProTune off the car and went with bm3 and the stage 2 flash. Noticeable difference in power and delivery, definitely going to need some stickier rubber. Main reason: just wanted more power and the ability to remove the stupid CEL for the cat (catless DP).

Used a K&N filter on a sports car with a turbo. Passed a lot of fine dust and ruined the engine. Had to drop a new engine in. My mechanic said, it was like using nothing to filter the air and he would never use K&N. Lesson learned and never again.

I personally wouldnā€™t use that for a brand new Supra but thatā€™s just me. But it makes good power and I used it for my other turbo Hondas with no problems.

How many miles of use? I tend to keep my cars for a long time so it got around 70,000 and then showed issues with the wear of the engine. I used synthetic oil and changed every 5,000 to 7,000 miles but my mechanic stated, when he took off the head and did a few other things, it was wear and from the air intake, he could see the fine residue.

I been turboā€™ed on my rsx since like 2009 so approximately 11 years of use? Last 5 years wasnā€™t a daily anymore. Car has 73k miles now.

That is great and glad you have no problems. I know it cost me around 4,000 dollars and K&N would not address the issue, even with the formal documentation from a well established mechanic and I myself having rebuilt engines and saw what went on. Anyway, glad it works for you but for me, never, ever, again. :^)

Maybe I got lucky. What kinda car did you have? I agree with you, definitely no K & N exposed like that on a new A90. I am sure Toyota would find a way to void the warranty if something would to ever happen.

I had a Mitsubishi AWD turbo manual. Excellent car but I kept up on the fluids and general care. It used a big filter that was well sealed in the enclosure. When I sold it, it was to a body shop and the guy couldn't believe the condition (it still looked almost new, 20 years later). He didn't even drive it until he gave me the money. But that was after a new engine. :^)
