TBH, I didn't buy into the whole LE thing at all. As @A70TTR mentioned, it's nothing more then a special number plate and a bunch of marketing BS. Those who bought into it and paid the premium, you live and you learn but a sucker is made every single day.

It would have been more ideal if it was a 1 off color with more performance and/or suspension but just like with the 86 Limited Editions, they were laughable.

our LE's in Oregon still have a 20k Mark up over the premium. that was a hard pass for me.

^ My friend works near Corvallis, and he sent me two pictures of two different LEs, so I guess they paid up lol

The fact that the LE # doesn't correlate to build order or VIN order says it all. Toyota USA randomly assigned the dashboard stickers to these cars, so the sticker itself is really cosmetic -- may as not even have a number on it. The LE is a limited trim package, that's all.

BTW, I have no gripe against the LE -- it's a nice trim package -- but I think that the buyers and sellers who bought into the hype and supported price premiums really made a mess of things. The sellers were greedy and many buyers got ripped off for no actual benefit.

I have a buddy that works at that dealership. he kept telling me to come to make the sale. said he could get me 5k off what was marked. i told him to save his breath.

no one:
mkv forum : canada gets all the cool stuff

that red is kinda growing on me.
I don't know how good or bad it was in the end, but we didn't get the wireless charger in our premiums - I kinda wanted it.

that's weird I thought that was standard across the board?
Nope different markets get different features. Europe has a fire extinguisher, 12v plug in the trunk and storage nets.

Canada also didnt get the adaptive head light that follows the direction you turn.

Bought my LE at msrp, so I didnā€™t really buy into too much hype. However, I wish they did a few other things to differentiate the LE from the others.

In the end, I donā€™t care.

I paid no such markup, so in that respect I guess I feel better about it. Plus, I got way more for my 8 6 than KBB valued it at. I agree that it doesnā€™t change much. Do I wish they did more to permanently differentiate LEā€™s? Yes. Although it hasnā€™t lessened my love for this car. Plus Iā€™ll always remember the ā€œchallengeā€ I felt I had to getting one.

Iā€™m just gonna leave this here.....

Most of you acting like the LE wasnā€™t the better buy over the premium, both up front and in the long run, bought premiums and probably wish you had an LE. There is literally no downside to buying an LE at nearly the same cost as a premium.

Youā€™re fooling yourself if you think that in 10-15 years that badge on the dash wonā€™t make an LE worth an upwards of $5-10k+ more than a premium in the same condition.
