I was thinking this is exactly what The Supra needs, looks weird with big 4 piston calipers in the front and then Mickey Mouse 1 calipers in the back lol

I replaced my brakes with a front and rear kit from R1. here is a pic of one of the rear brakes, and they retain the factory e-brake system. 6 piston calipers front and rear!!

Do you have a link for this? I can't seem to find it on their website.

Also if you have any more info on how exactly the rear parking brake works that would be great. Thanks!

for the big brake kits you have to call, because they have too many options to just list them. the e-brake works just as the oem…. you just remove the electric motor attached to the oem rear calipers and attach them to the R1 rear caliper.... that was the main reason I got them over the other choices, they work great and you can get the whole kit for the price of the Brembo front kit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!.. for general information you can email them, they are good at answering and their customer service is very good

Okay so I parked next to a M240i today and I noticed the Brakes were actual calipers and not the cheap clips that we have on our Supras.

I'm starting to wonder if I just bought these and powder coated them red would they bolt on easily?

You mean they are 2 piston monoblock fixed calipers vs the 2 piston floating calipers the Supra came with. Looking at the m235 rear brakes, I'm not sure how its ebrake works. Some cars have a cable that actuates the caliper manually, others have a separate caliper (but don't see those on the m2), others like the old Supras have drums for the parking brake. Not sure what the m2 has, but even if that caliper bolted on and happened to work with the Supras disc diameter, you almost certainly would loose your parking brake. One could add a hydraulic or cable operated caliper with a little fabrication, but you would need to incorporate a lever in the interior.

That is why I show you the ones I have. the e brake works like the OEM, and you get a six piston rear caliper... and compared to other kits is close to 1/2 the cost.... and work better than the brakes from my previous RCF.

I wanna do it but I don't think I could justify it right now as I need to really upgrade my MKIV.
Understood... I had a 94 MKIV it was my money pit... i had it for almost 16 yrs that was the only car I owned longer than 3yrs....lol....

F Series(like the m240 and other 2/3/4 series of that gen) calipers have a cable actuated e-brake, so they won't work with your electronic parking brake system.

From that ebay add...

Looks like an electrical wire. Is there a motor inside the caliper, or is that for a sensor? Doesn't look like a manual steel cable for ebrake.

I have personal experience with these brakes, I have these brakes sitting in my garage waiting to go on my e92. That wire is the brake pad wire, the e brake is a cable actuated drum brake inside the rotor.
