The 1,000 unit figure for the A91 Edition appears to be for the US market (500 each for the two available colors).

This is the particular model that I've been holding out for but the limited quantity will be an issue (and potential resurgence of ADMs from dealers).

For those experienced with acquiring limited edition models, I'm guessing the recommended strategy is to begin contacting all of my regional Toyota dealerships to reserve an allocation (though it's likely most dealerships have no idea about the upcoming 2021 A91 Edition)?
Most likely they don't know about it. I know that where I am, the service sucks and they don't seem to know anything even about the current model and I have to go on line to find my answers as I get misinformation from them.

What I wonder, is, if there will be the A91 edition of 1000 and then the A90 as the regular premium model?

Toyota should allow owners of MY20 to tune and modify without any bs about voiding warranty or anything else especially if theres no support for updating with a factory type of retune.
Exaclty. Toyota should at minimum be giving a warranted tune and or revamp to anyone who purchased these cars early on. Not like we haven’t seen a tune only make those numbers! This is absolutely ridiculous and so is anyone defending this shady move by Toyota. Not everyone searches forums like a hawk before purchasing a vehicle, what a sorry excuse.

I saw mention of a petition. If one gets made, count me in.

^^ Yeah my guess it'll be just like the mark ups that were on LEs last year.

The GRMN car should be cool, but expect to pay around $70k - $80k.

Agreed. It seems most people were making a joke about the petition in that thread but honestly if it happens, you can count me in for a signature. People saying they knew it was all coming I don’t think knew of all the other changes Toyota made as well besides the power increase and for it to be officially announced less then a year after launch

I think these petitions will go just as well as the petition to change the name of the MKV....
or the petition to remove the Supra nameplate ...
or the petition for the manual...

You’re right. 99.9% chance that nothing will get done and Toyota won’t even bat an eye. But that .1% doesn’t exist at all if we don’t at least voice our opinion loud enough for Toyota to hear. At the least, they are going to lose a lot of the loyalty that us early adopters have had. We’ve been the ones saying how great the car is while the rest of the world shits on it. The least they could do is offer us a revised tune and not the middle finger.

I think it’s safe to say we’re all enjoying our cars. It’s the being bent over and f$&ked part we aren’t enjoying.

I got on a wait list right after announcement, purposely skipped a launch edition for personal reasons. Toyota is only doing what any good manufacturer does, constant improvement. They are in business to make money, period. I have no regrets I'll just stay hopeful aftermarket parts will be an options years down the road when I choose to modify. I usually keep my cars stock for years. A manual might get me to trade in though.

This is 100% spot on. I defended this car left and right and I still love mine but damn that last part of your post is exactly what has me questioning my loyalty to Toyota
