I can definitely see the 4cyl model selling to people who just putt around and donā€™t autocross/track their car etc. or only care about looks vs heritage.
I track my cars, hard. "Heritage"? Do not care... I am a huge 240Z fan (deeply regret trading mine for LS-engine FD), and I'd *love* a modern Z with even an N.A. 4.
I'm more interested in the 4 cylinder Supra than the 6 because 200 lb. lighter weight, surely better weight distribution and lower polar moment, and power potential is still good. My only hangup is that 3200 lb. is still kinda overweight for a 2-seat sports car. For me...

Interesting. So someone decided that was worth keeping at the last minute but that Downshift wasn't :hmm:
From the dealer side of things phantom has always been on the preference screen for my21, Downshift Blue unfortunately hasn't been there at all.

I'll stick with a higher compression motor for now as I don't want to sacrifice the response. It's the reason why in the later years all the fast drag 2JZ went with a stroker kit 3.4L to avoid the 10 hours of turbo lag LOL.
There is minimal lag on the Z4 engine and the compression ratio is not that much of a difference. We will see though in a few months.

2020 Premium 3.0 weighs 3,345.5 lbs/ without a driver or fuel in tank. Mine weighs 3,550 with me (185 lbs. driver) and 1/4 tank of fuel 3.4 gallons / 20 lbs. @ 6 lbs. per gallon weight.

Also those ratings between the model cars is inaccurate. We all know now that the 2020 GR Supra 3.0 is faster then 4.1 from 0-60 and in fact have been tested to be running 3.8 0-60 stock. Nearly all dyno tests showed around 320-340whp which equates to roughly 380 crank hp putting it right in line with the advertised 2021 HP/TQ specs.

We'll see if there are any real improvements when it comes out in real world comparison tests. Anyone can test in controlled environments and claim any numbers doesn't mean your car will perform the exact same.

Downshift was confirmed gone long before, but up until a few weeks ago apparently Phantom was being debated which is why it wasn't shown on the website for available colors. I guess they would have just removed it from the preference screen or cancelled those orders if they decided to stay with the decision to drop it.

That said, I could care less about Phantom and felt Downshift was the best color overall.

The 382 HP engine also dynos above its rated spec. In fact all the B58 variants do. I have a 355HP B58 in my X3M40i and it produced 358HP at the wheels, so that would be 430-450HP at the crank depending on assumptions.

I really like Phantom and would have gotten it had the dealership not been married to the $10K ADM... that cost them the sale entirely. However, I am a bit surprised considering the "special handling requirements" of a matte finish - especially in light of the apparent inability to get decent coverage/thinkness on the cleared colors. I wonder if the paint quality will be any better with MY21's?
