Anyone have an issue with their lane departure going on and off?? I went through the safety features yesterday and turned them completely off, then set them on custom. I have the custom safety feature with lane departure set to on with medium setting. While driving yesterday the lane departure would come on and off randomly. Drove to work this morning and same thing with it coming on and off randomly. Not sure whats more annoying, the lane departure going on and off or the stupid light on the dash going on and off.

The lane departure system is speed specific...Here on US models you won't see lane departure engaged or see the icon unless your traveling over 40 mph....

Also check to see that there are no obstructions or dirt on camera...
Yes I know when they come on and how it works. Its been working fine since I got it 2 months ago. It only started acting up after I turned the safety button off and back on. Nothing is obstructing the camera or sensors. It just comes on and off on its own while over 40+mph. when the lane light is off going over 40 it actually doesnt engage either so its not just the light coming on and off randomly

OK...then I'd take it in for Service...I haven't had any issues with mine...good luck...

Yea I might have to. I wasnt sure if it needed to recalibrate or anything like that after the system was off. I figured after driving it to work it would correct itself. Ill see how it goes on the way home

Most likely need to set it to custom and then configurate it to off. Which I am assuming you did. I set mine to off, but the light also comes on regardless. I'd also make sure that you're not just hitting bumps that could cause the tires to jerk.

If you are bringing it in, make sure you can reproduce the issue consistently. The tech is just going to tell you nothing is wrong if their scan tool doesn't pull up an error code and they can't get the issue to come up in a diagnostic road test.

I have mine set to off almost all the time and the light never comes on. I turn it on when on the highway cruising and maybe want the extra "eyes" and then I get the light showing lane tracking. But I've never had the light come on when I have it set to off.

Yea I set it on custom. I had it set on custom before as well and didnt have any issues. I have the lane departure on medium setting so it was coming on after 40 mph like normal. I turned off the setting completely and then set it back to custom. After I reset it back on, both on normal and on the custom, it comes on intermittently at random times after 40 mph. On the highway it should be on like normal but it comes on randomly and cuts off randomly. The light and the actual lane departure both do this as I was thinking maybe it was just the light on the dash coming off and on randomly. I was hoping maybe after having it off that this was just going to recalibrate on its own possibly since nothing else was different from when it was working normally. On the drive home ill try again and see. If its still acting weird might take it tomorrow to the dealership and see. It doesnt show any errors or anything like that though.

Also pay attention to the conditions of the road itself. Mine regularly does that any time the lines aren't clear enough (which makes sense). I'll have to try turning mine back on, but it seems that when I don't have intervention turned on it doesn't even vibrate any more. Never bothered me because I found it mostly wrong (would always go off on exits, etc.). Now I wonder if it's because it's not working at all on any setting other than the default "everything on" setting. :hmm:
