So I've been having some problems with the locking and unlocking with the exterior handle. It used to work all the time, but now it doesn't at all. I've been using the same key (assigned to 1), and it stopped working shortly before I dropped the car off to be wrapped. Is there a way to reset it so it will work again, or do I need to 1. Take it to the dealership or 2. Just use the other key? I do have the wife's car key on the keyring, and hers has the same thing. Possible it's interfering? I'll be able to test that when I get home.

I don’t have mine in yet but I have had a car with the lock/unlock on the handle.

Although I think it’s unlikely that this is the problem, I would try changing the battery in the fob. Whenever my battery was going out the lock/unlock would work intermittently then just completely stopped working. Changed the battery and it was perfectly fine.

My only easy solution I can think of :dunno:

The sensors on the car so sensitive. Just driving my car into a parking garage interferes with the reception. Maybe some sensors got covered after the wrap

It stopped working before the wrap.

Just tried the other key, no luck.

Well, the locking function worked last night, and unlock immediately after, but it's gone out again. Someone suggested new batteries in the remotes, so I'm going to try that later.

In the manual, it says there is a specific place you touch. In the corner of the door handle. Maybe try looking for that spot and seeing if it is a hand placement issue

Mine arrived to the dealership last week. It arrived and the lock/unlock from the handle did not work from the start. The dealership had ordered a part (I'll find out what it is) that is supposed to arrive Monday to see if that fixes the problem. If it does I'll report back here. Is anyone else experiencing this? If so, have you found a solution? I'm worried that the part that my dealership has ordered will not correct the problem. They will not release the vehicle to me until this is fixed and I'm itching to drive the car already!

you'd think that after all the waiting they'd have fixed everything...

Did anybody find out how to fix this? Mine started doing it also. It will lock with the key but not the outside handle.

At the moment I just keep touching it around the area with different amounts of force. Usually works eventually. Will mention it when I take it in for it’s first service.

  • Problem area is if any part of your hand is touching both areas, (lock & unlock), the car won't know what to do. I ran into this scenario myself a couple of times.

When locking, make sure you only touch the three grooves on top with one finger. You have to hold your one finger there for a second or two before the car will trigger the lock. The grooves are located on the top right side of the handle.

When unlocking there is a sensor that is located on the back of the handle. If you are opening the door with your left hand, it will be located around your pinkie finger. Make sure your fingers are only on the back of the door handle.

Correct. I still have the same problem when I am only touching the three stripes.

Did anyone find the solution for this. My car was locking and if the window is down it would also roll up the window as long as my hand is placed on the three stripes. But after one night, it doesnt work anymore. I dont know if it is a setting change I made or something else!!
