I kept receiving "check tire pressure soon" messages-
My tires were 35PSI all around. The car is "recommending" 42 psi front, 41 psi rear on the tire pressure maintenance screen. The door sticker recommends 38psi all around I believe (I may be wrong, at least one location is 38psi).

What pressure to use? For the moment I made the car computer happy and went 42/41

Did you try resetting the tire pressure monitoring system?

The car suggests inflation pressure based on outside temperature, is what I've observed.
When it was cold, I got similar suggestions.

The car recommends a "realtime" pressure, based on the actual tire temperature. This will be affected by driving, which heats up the tire. The door jamb sticker gives the "cold" inflation pressure.

The two should agree when the tires are cold.

This is covered somewhere in the owners manual if you want to read more, but the bottom line is that if you are setting tire pressure before the car is driven, go by the door jamb. If you are doing if after the car has been driven and the tires are warmed up, go by what the car tells you.

For the past few months (with the colder weather) the recommended tire pressure per the vehicle system display on my vehicle was almost always suggesting 37 pounds. Now that outside temperatures have been warmer, the recommended pressure has been increasing. I saw a recommended pressure of 41 pounds today for the first time ever. What is the highest recommended pressure you have seen per the vehicle display in warmer climates?

just tried to search it up which lead me to this dead thread because I'm getting 47 psi front and 46 rear and thought that was insane. This is after about 2 hours of driving in nyc traffic in 85 deg weather

Might as well call this thread ā€œoverthinking thingsā€

Set to what the door sticker says when the tires are cold and go on with your lives.
Yep. The variable pressure recommendations system is stupid.

(I have a ā€˜20 3.0 premium) Sorry for being stupid, but where does the system show a recommended pressure? The screen I see under My Vehicle and Vehicle Status just tells me what the pressure and internal temp of each tire is.

TIA!

Same screen, top and bottom (above and below the car outline).

Doesnā€™t exist on my screen.

I wonder if itā€™s because the prior owner put on wheels/tires and the sizes are listed as ā€œotherā€ in the setup screen.
