I'm planning on trying to lift the car up onto jack stands using a floor jack when I get it in order to remove the wheels for detailing. Does anyone know the best positions to place it? From what I've seen in the owner's manual posted online it only has positions on the side which is where I'd want to place the jack stands so not ideal for lifting in that position as well.

The GT86 owner's manual has this diagram to help, but not seen anything for the Supra

Would similar positions be the best for the Supra too? Anyone done it themselves? Don't want to cause any damage to the car or have it be unstable when lifting!

It will probably have BMW-style jacking points on the side, which use a rectangular socket, so you'll need the right adapters for those whether you put a jack or stands on the sides. You can buy them or make them out of hard material, approx 30Wx55Lx25H in mm.

If there is a front jack point it is hidden under the shield, so you will need to remove that to find it unless someone else has explored this already. And I suspect it's far back, so it may be a stretch to reach it with a floor jack (may need to drive the car on ramps first).

I saw no obvious jack point at the rear. I would not use the diff as a jack point since it has fins and is a rather delicate looking casting. There is a beefy subframe right behind the diff that would normally be a good option, but the electronic module for the rear diff is mounted right underneath it! Almost looks like you'd need to make a cradle to go around that module in order to reach the subframe.

Yeah that's what I was thinking about the front and rear areas, nowhere obvious! Thanks for the info about the rectangular blocks though, will need to look into those.

Any tips for getting the car off a floor jack and on to the jack stands when using the side jack points? I can see getting the one in the opposite end easily but then the jack is directly under the other! Might just have to do rear first then front or vice versa.

It would be ideal to put the car on jack stands so I can take off all 4 wheels at once. It would make cleaning and coating them easier... Please let me know if you find out anything else

You can jack from the diff and from a section on the front. Screenshot taken from official Toyota workshop manual

Hi Guys, thanks for the opportunity to be part of this forum? Has anyone used these lifting points so far and confirm these are100% accurate?

Used them to get the car onto 4 jack stands yesterday. You can put a floor jack under the rear differential as in the picture. The other one up front does initially sounds like it is cracking plastic (just make sure you are slightly more towards the front that the large screw in the middle, just at the picture shows) but nothing is cracking and the jacks held while I was able to place 4 jack stands at the four other support positions.

I've never tried to use jack stands since I have ramps; I'm curious. Did you use an adapter with the jack stands to mount on the factory location? Or will the car hold without them?

I used an adapter. I placed one of those ā€œpucksā€ at the factory location and then the jack under that.

My recommendation on getting car on 4 stands.

Jack the front before the rear. Clearance is worse in front and gets worse when car is leaning forward.
My jack (85mm) only just clears the front on stock suspension.
When jacking the rear, make sure you clear the rear fins on the differential.
I find a small folded towel on normal (flat) jack stands seems to preserve the plastic just fine, but use the adapter if you have one. Don't need the adapter if you don't mind damage to the plastic points.

I have to replace a tire and bought this floor jack online. Do I need to get an adapter too? If so, what kind?
