The amount of mental gymnastic regarding the 2020 vs the 2021 in this thread is comical.
You read as the kind of guy that buys the turbo kit before buying the car. LOL

Do those other cars have the same tunes? Transmissions? Fuel? Fuel pumps and injectors? I bet they don't even share the same ECU's LOL
Besides tunes (which doesnā€™t matter here since we are talking about tuned cars), yes they share all of those things. We have known about this from the time Supra parts were leaked on RealOEM about a year and a half ago.

Wait a sec why do you guys honestly think there is not going to be an upgrade year over year? A car company is in the business of selling cars, not selling you a car and calling it a day. Adding features year over year has been a tactic for decades and it isnt just car companies, it is everything! Welcome to the way it works.

Everything I've heard from tuners says the engines are identical when tuned. The advantage is thought to be had after 750+whp but it's only theory at this point
Unless itā€™s all in the timing maps, I canā€™t see how this would be true. Add the psi that the 2021 has to the 2020 and the 2020 makes a significant amount more power.

I donā€™t think the supra is going to make it year after year... sales need to pick up drastically or it may not

Yes cannot wait for them to be released and modded so I can rub some of these clowns noses in their own sh*t. Ha!
You seem awfully insecure. Is that the reason for your "Fast and Furious look at me!" graphics that went out of style 10 minutes after the movie released?

Toyota doesn't need drastic sales. It's a halo car. It's profits come from the Camry, Corolla, Sienna, Prius, that kind of stuff. I read somewhere that the actual cost to Toyota is $43k per unit so even discounted at $50k it still makes profit. And let's not forget that the Supra sells for a lot more in other markets outside the USA.

Is anybody tired of the countless debates of 2020 motor vs 2021 motor? Who the fk cares anymore? 2021 has more hp and better top end. End of story. Turbo lag of 200 rpms on 2021? Who the hell cares...... Just enjoy the cars everybody. 2020 has higher compression and etc. There are pros and cons with both motors I can see.

Yeah. I figured their true price gotta be somewhere in the low 40ā€™s... That dealer invoice price is bs... Where they say oh, itā€™s only $49-$50k. They ainā€™t going to sell you a car without making any money.

Exactly. None of which matters in normal driving conditions since 99% of the time you're using maybe 80 horsepower while cruising lol.

I am still amazed how amazing MPG it gets actually for a high hp/tq car. Technology these days!! Lol.

Twin scroll turbos have a lot to do with it. Instant torque at low RPM. The engine doesn't have to work nearly as hard to get up to speed burning less fuel. 8 speed automatics utilize the powerband a lot better than a 6 speed manual.

For comparison, 2015 WRX vs 2015 STI. Same outer body, but the WRX with less power and a twin scroll turbo has much better MPG than the STI with a single scroll turbo. The STI you're always wringing it's neck to get boost going while in the WRX it just gets up and goes. The WRX if I remember correctly hits peak torque 1800 RPM sooner than the STI. WRX MPG is in the mid 20's while STI MPG is in the mid 10's (real world application) I hovered around 17 MPG in mine. My buddies WRX got 24 all day.
