Taking my car back to the dealer for service for the 3rd time with the same error, only had the car less than 2 weeks. When this error shows, the steering and suspension doesn't stiffen up when I switch it to sport mode, just feels like its in normal mode which is no fun. Bought this car to bring back excitement to my commute :). I'm planning to talk Toyota about returning my car if they're not able to fix it. It seems like they have no clue on how to fix it when I spoke to them about it. If they do take it back, I will probably just wait for the MY21 or go a different ruote, maybe M3 or M4. And if the dealer gives me the run around, I will try to get a Lemon Law attorney. So is anyone else getting this error?

Why hasn't the dealership replaced the battery yet? It seems like they are so overwhelmed by BMW underpinnings that they can't focus on what is causing the error. I'm not a tech by any means but "Replace Battery" means to replace the battery.

Toyota techs starting to show their incompetence? Perhaps lack of knowledge or training from bmw. This is a German engineered car and it won’t be simple to isolate especially with electrical. This isn’t something where you disconnect the battery and the whole Car resets and be on your merry way.

Curious if you’re allowed to take this to bmw and toyota dealer foot the bill ? or maybe take it to another toyota dealer for a 3rd or 4th look that may seem to have a better understanding on the Supra ?

No you are not. I believe it is even stated on some documentation not to take it to BMW. I also don’t see most if any BMW dealerships working on it. So far the few who have tried have been told no.

Dealer fixed mine, and it never happened since. They replaced the plastic piece/sensor that is found on the driver side rear and front, I think it had to do with the active suspension.

Hey, I am going through something similar. I wanted your opinion on it. I just had a replacement on a diff seal that was leaking badly and had it replaced about a month ago. After getting it back from the dealership, I noticed that the driving stability was way off immediately. The simple turns that I drive on near my place would be hard, but not hard to fish tail. I had the car since August and I have 3900 miles on it. There are no mods on the car. The car was always stable and it NEVER since I have owned the car has it fish tailed on me doing 30-40 mph. This all started since I got it back from the dealership. I took it back and ask them if they did anything to the car or disconnected the battery. They told me no. Since having it for a month, i have spurts where the sport feels like normal mode. I tested this out on the road while driving and I have reset the settings at least 3 times. The excuse that I got from the dealership service manager that the car has a built in AI and will do that. Over time, it will loose your driving habits from prolonged sitting. I know this is BS. I never got a warning or error message. So, I am glad that I am not going crazy about the stability issue. Keep me informed about what other things I need to feel for or what you find out.

Update: my chassis message and rear axle differential lock message is gone. I drove it around with annoying message poppin up but eventually it went away. I changed my tie rod assembly kit and front sway bar when I got the pop up message.

I also got the chassis function message on the display. As soon as the message showed up, i noticed that my headlights light beam was shining lower down the road. While installing the SPL rear toe links, i noticed the wire that connects to the rear left suspension strut disconnected. After connecting it and starting the car, the message has gone. Never saw it again.

So, to all the members that got the chassis message, it would be wise to check the wires that connect to all four suspension struts.

I hope you find that information helpful.

Hey buddy

Goodness I’m thinkin I could be in the same boat as you. Just my luck, my Supra is a personal import and our local dealer aren’t bringing in the Supra.

Do you by chance have the part number?

I had the same issue. The performance shop I went to, Velocity Motorworks in Raleigh, NC, put my rear ride height sensor arm upside down... as well as some other shit that I had to get fixed elsewhere.

I do not recommend taking your Supra to them if you're in the area.
