Hey All,

Not really sure if this is an issue or just something due to the fact that there is no tune, but thought I would ask for the sake of knowledge.

My car currently has the FI Exhaust Catted (200CEL) downpipe along with the catback valvetronic portion. I also have the Eventuri Intake/Box currently.

**FULL DISCLOSURE** I ABSOLUTELY LOVE LOVE both the FI Exhaust and Eventuri Intake systems. This is in no means a negative thread.

Sometimes after driving the car in sport mode for 30min or longer the car seems to seriously lag as far as power/rpm climbing. Basically I will put my foot to the floor and it takes forever for the car to respond and climb rpm's. Then onces it reaches about 4-5K it pulls hard. Almost like there is some MAJOR turbo lag. It is the weirdest thing. Then after driving in "Auto" mode for a couple minutes, assuming everything kind of cools down, everything is back to normal.

The exhaust has been on for a few months now, and to this day have not had any CEL codes or check engine lights on. Car over all drives fine.

Just wanted to get a sanity check to if this is something that could be normal due to not having a tune to compensate for the new exhaust? This is the first car I have ever owned/modified the exhaust and did not add a tune immediately.

Thanks in advance for any insight.

Cheers,
-V

Hey! Theses cars are torque based and one thing that happens when you free up the turbo efficiency is that it overshoots the airflow targets for the commanded torque. The ECU’s response is to close the throttle to control the airflow. Depending on how severe the overshoot is, it
may feel like lag. A tune will allow the limits to be raised and take advantage of the parts you installed. Hope this helps!
