Press U to also pay respect to the GTS RS and MB's that was smashed during the riots as well.

I saw the YouTube video of that black GT3 RS - same video the guy saw the Ferrari of Beverly Hills caravan of cars being exfiltrated. Video runs from morning until late into the evening when the GT3 footage appears.

I have to say Iā€™m currently without a car completely (my lemon buyback was on March 14), and I didnā€™t think Iā€™d be using a car for a while (Iā€™m not) so I decided not to buy my replacement that day. Recently, I had been questioning the wisdom of rocking out with a brand new fancy car, but the current social climate makes that seem even less wise. Still plan to buy a Supra.

Wish that Tesla truck was out. Itā€™s bulletproof from handgun calibers and quite robust...

I can see this type of thinking. The Supra along with many other cars draw attention which get people to look, but could be a bad thing in a jealous persons eyes. I know I've had some vehicles in the past (nothing extremely special) that I wouldn't leave out of site as for worry someone would mess with it. So it made me not drive the cars too often as I was very picky. Kind of takes the fun out of it.

The car does draw a lot of attention and one needs to be careful. I have left the car parked at Costco but will not leave it at Walmart or Target. I've been doing more Target drive-ups so I can stay with the car :)

For sure. Its a cultural thing. You would never see citizens destroying peoples property in Japan or Korea. It brings dishonor to your family's name. And they value that as they should.

Sad we have to be like this in our society. I wish more parents/families would teach values like "don't mess with other people's stuff". You don't see people acting like this in Japan.

I've noticed the whole attention thing mentioned in a ton in reviews of the mk5. Not exactly a selling feature for me. I remember back several years ago I used to roll around with a group of car friends. Most of us had modded domestics at the time and one of the guys received a huge settlement and bought himself a viper. I remember how much attention that car got and it wasn't just car people. Everyone and their mom would come up, ask what it was, etc. I always thought that is exactly what I wouldn't want in a car. I've had various vehicles through the years that would get the occasional person wanting to talk about it and that's fine.

You're exactly correct. It's a culture thing. I remember being told as a child not to mess with people's stuff but I feel like that has been lost and something that is not taught as often any longer. That's why you'll occasionally see some idiot teenagers all standing on some poor guys exotic or such just for an instagram picture. I have a buddy with a c6 zr1 and on two occasions he's come out from a store or mall with kids standing on it or laying on the hood taking pictures. That was in Nebraska too of all places! I can only imagine it being worse in urban areas. I've never been out of the US but I definitely believe you when mentioning Japan or Korea. I also notice from watching car videos how well maintained their streets are. No litter or trash along the curbing or medians. Seems nice.

I get that, I live in Kenosha less than a mile from the epicenter which if you haven't been watching the news has been full of protestors and rioters until a few nights ago. I didn't drive my Supra since it started due to this, I had rioters come down my street a few times and luckily not touch anything I own. Did make me vary wary of leaving the garage open.

to conform to PC culture, shouldn't the title thread be changed to "Supra gets make over by peaceful protesters" :p
LAMO

Anyways, it's been 2-3 months now. I think its safe to say the car was repaired and sold.

Until a few nights ago, meaning until Trump sent in troops to get shit done.
