Initially with either door handle or fob. I have the courtesy headlights turned off and the interior light stays on for about a minute.

I just noticed mine doing this tonight. For me the hazard switch is illuminated and the “P” on the shift stalk. I hear computer type whining, the “P” will briefly turn off followed by a passenger side wiper twitch. Repeat sequence until full shutdown

my car is not locked. I park it in the garage and just shut it down.

I love this car but the twitching wiper blades every time I open and close a door has been driving me crazy. I've tried every setting, sequence and voodoo I could think of. I may be close to making this workable. If the car is parked and not running; shut the car off with the volume knob, close the door and press the panic button on the key fob One time. The flashing lights will stop and the blades won't twich. If the car has been driven; I have to let blades twich one time before I press the panic button. Don't know if cars are different but this is working for me

Hi, just picked up my Supra 2 days ago. I have this same issue. Very disconcerting as it goes through dozens of what seems like a series of reset cycles for 5 to 10 minutes after parking and exiting the car. I hear relays switching, beeping, and both windshield wipers twitch. Anyone really know what it’s doing? The theory of preventing wiper sticking doesn’t sound right to me.

It’s definitely not to keep the wipers from sticking to the windshield. It’s software. With all of the wonky shit with this car, I am starting to think that they just didn’t do a great job of testing the Supra version of the code and it’s just got a lot of bugs. The wiper twitch issue seems to be benign enough. Hopefully, future code releases will sort out some of the more annoying things.

Might be wrong but I don’t think this is Supra specific, if you google BMW wiper twitch a bunch of forum threads come up.
This. Also happens on MBs and Porsches. Why exactly is this a big deal? (I haven't even noticed it) :hmm:

Edit* Add VW to this. Threads going back to 2011 on various forums. If it's been happening for 9+ years and everyone is still alive, seems like a non-issue.

Yup can confirm this is happening to my new supra i picked up yesterday. As long as i press the lock button 2 times to were the light in the car turn on for a short time i will not get the twitch. I believe thats why several supra owners have battery issues.

Dropped off the car at service to log this issue to toyota so they can come up with a software fix in the future. I also believe this could be a issue draining the battery if it does it for a long time after you walk away from the car. Also this morning i left my car unlocked while in the garage working on stuff and the wind shield wiper started twitching and a wining noise started just like whats stated in this forum. So it seems to do it regardless if locked or unlocked unless you press the lock button twice.

Pressing the lock button twice just disables the interior sensors for the alarm. I've had the twitch since day one and no problems with my battery (it was replaced at delivery with the usual error message). I leave my car unlocked in the garage and the twitch always stops on full shutdown after 6 minutes. Guess I'm lucky.

It is interesting that disabling the interior alarm sensors stops the twitch. That's a great catch. Looking more and more like a software bug.

Did you report your issue to the dealer/service. I think if enough people get upset and push this issue they will try and do something about it.

If you press lock twice its stops the twitching immediately or it still has to go through the cycle of 6 minutes until the ECU completely dies.

Are either of you experiencing anything else that seems off?

Ive noticed these other software issues that the dealer has no answer for:

1) Twitching / relay going off
2) Car starts and doesnt save the last climate control setting. Just always starts and is set to 60 driver 68 passenger at full blast AC.
3) Weird vibration (sounds like sub woofer bass) if im cruising in Comfort in 6th gear before auto gear change to 7th and then again in 7th around 33-35 mph if light accelerating. I can get this to do it every time.
