Turbo800 or BoostLogic Turbo Kit?

What turbo would be the best option for 620 whp?

Hi,

Finally saved enough to pull the trigger on the Pure800, but not sure now, just saw the BoostLogic Turbo Kit:

http://www.boostlogic.com/parts/toy...omponents-packages/boost-logic-turbo-kit.html

And it's temping, I may need to save some more. However, wanted to ask for advise, has someone on this forums used this kit before? There is a video from Jordan from RK Tunes and he was able to get into the 700 whp with this turbo kit and meth. My target is about 620 whp, not much more.

Another question is, would be better to recirculate or to vent to atmosphere on this car? It is also plug an play? To me the BoostLogic seems overkill, but it also could be the best decision long term. What would you choose?

Pure800, Down pipe, Meth and E40 will get you to 600+WHP easily. It also retains the factory waste gates and is direct OEM turbo replacement.

I actually ordered one and waiting for it to arrive, my goal is a very conservative 500whp on pump gas

PS: Adamlz switched from Boostlogic back to a Pure800 in order to simplify the car

First off, I would recommend a Pure800 if 600whp is your goal. The Boost Logic kit is going to be a bigger PITA than I think it would be worth for that power level. What is really important from what I understand, is that you retain the factory electronic wastegate. Without it, driveability suffers as the ECU no longer has any clue how much boost the turbo is attempting to make at any given moment.

I would also have to recommend to stay away from RK Tunes. He has a lot of driveability issues with his car from throttle closures to reoccurring limp modes. Use someone like Marin@Goodspeed, STIMikey, TunedbyPayn, Visconti etc. They all seem to have a better grasp on tuning these cars.

Another thing, for the wastegate on the Boost Logic kit, I would probably say neither is necessarily better than the other. If sound volume is a concern, the external wastegate will definitely piss you off. I think I would pick the recirculating as long as boost creep is not an issue for one or the other.

Hi, thanks for the heads up, didn't knew about this change on Adamlz's setup. I think makes sense, but I do wonder if he kept the port injection kit and the micro squirt. I agree, my plan is to be on the 620whp with E50 + Meth and ~500 whp with pump gass too, seems the best power target for this car.

Makes sense, when AdamLz built his Supra with the Boost Logic, the setup was complex, not really sure if I want something like that, besides I don't know many shops in the Sacramento area that could help me with the build in any case.

The Pure800 swap I think can do it myself, the only thing that stops me from doing it, is the coolant part, do I need to bleed the entire system? or just refill the lost coolant? Is there any way to vent to atmosphere with the stock turbo?

Thanks for the replies!

Just a heads up

My order has now taken 27 days and did not ship

They are facing large order volumes and having issues completing orders in time so expect delays

From which store? I see different prices on different places, do they have stock or they depend directly on pureturbos?

I ordered direct from Pure USA

You could look around for anyone stocking them

I would have to assume you bleed it. The coolant system for the AC and intercooler is very important and it seems that not bleeding it is just asking for problems down the line.
