Went to my first Autocross event in the Supra. Made me fall in love with the car even more! Ended up classing into Extreme Street A because I did the downpipe and tune.

Now I have a question for my fellow autocrossers. Is there a quality set of 18" wheels you all recommend that don't break the bank? I want to get a set of 18's for track use and put some stickier rubber on. I'm quite "outclassed" by everyone in my class as they are all running 200 treadwear rubber.

Just realized this thread is in an inappropriate forum. Hopefully a mod can move or remove it for me?

Thanks!

You can do the 18" wheels, but realistically to save a little money you can probably be real competitive at local events with good tires on the stock wheels.

2 of us did the local auto x yesterday in wisconsin and pretty much dominated everything except for fully track prepped cars with a downpipe, tune, and good tires on stock wheels. (I had R888R"s and the other guy had RE71's)

My only problem with that is that I drive a lot on the street and I don't want to have RE71R's on full time. They are a bit too noisy for me. LoL

Heyyyy, I just did my first autox on Sunday!

I'm just going to throw R888s on my stock wheels. Some more seat time and sway bars to eliminate a little body roll and I think its golden.

Just front? Or front and rear sway bars?

I think only doing one would throw the balance of the car off, so I’ll be doing both front & rear

There was someone on the forum that had a pretty convincing argument not to use large rear sway bars on RWD cars because you'd end up losing critical traction. Maybe they'll chime in on this.

Best wheels that don't break the bank are probably still Enkei RPF-1. They're not expensive new, and you can find a lot of them used. Not sure how many there are in our PCD and size though.

I am running my 2021 3.0 in "AS" or A Street at SCCA Autocross events. The best 200 TW tries for this only come in 18" wheel sizes. The rules will let you go up or down one inch in diameter but the width has to be the same. Finding a 18X9 wheel with the correct bolt pattern was difficult. I bought a set of the 21 Supra 2.0 18 inch wheels from my local dealer. They are the same width, bolt pattern and offset.

Definitely recommend Titan 7 wheels. Good strong wheel which shouldnt break the bank. They also fit with our brakes.

Tires will be your best friend at Autocross. Remember, its not actually about the TW but about how fast the tires can heat up, I run Dunlop Z3 on my main Autocross car and tbh they take too long to heat up which means i dont get my best runs till near the end.
