That is great to hear. What did your owners manual say the max ethanol content should be? Also, did you run E85 only without switching to pump gas?
The reason manufacturers say a max of E20 is because that is generally the maximum amount of ethanol in standard gasoline. Minnesota, for example, adds 20% to their pump gas, or at least they used to. They ran extensive on the road real world testing and found no problems over millions of miles with no tuning required. However E85 obviously requires modifications so manufacturers don't want people thinking they can fill up at the E85 pump and go. . Mustangs use the same ECU as the Ford pickups, all of which are flex fuel. All the tuner has to do is activate the flex fuel switch and make the appropriate changes to the fuel and timing tables.I did run an occasional tank of 91, and Ford does recommend this with their FFV.
