This is not a kit car but a true replica after extensive 3D scanning of an original 2000GT while offering an updated interior, more modern suspension and the customer's choice of any flavor/tune of the 3.0L 2JZ driveline that they wish to have (naturally aspirated GE engine with ITBs or the turbocharged GTE version). Apparently they also offer a Prius hybrid drivetrain if someone wants that instead.

They'll even make a 1967 Bond car open top replica upon request.

Also significant from the article is the involvement of: "Hiroshi Hosoya, a test driver and design assistant on the 2000GT's original development team."

Considering how few of the original 2000GT's exist in the world and how much they go for this is a very cool and much more attainable option.

I'm sure if anyone *really* wanted to they could also substitute an ITB or triple carbureted fully built 5M-GE, 6M-GE or 7M-GE inline six to stay with the lineage of the original 2000GT's M-series engine block.

The Rocky Auto 3000gt and the Superformance Daytona Coupe are 2 cars I want in my possession one day. But neither one is cheap. I think the 3000gts are around $250K to $300K last time I looked at them.

$200K seems pretty inexpensive for a project like this. Not saying it's cheap. Not saying it's inexpensive. But all things are relative.
