I didn't spec my car but it came with it. The adaptive cruise control is awesome. The lane departure is a bit annoying even on low setting and makes me paranoid i'd lose control of the car sometimes lol
Turn it off then?

Iā€™ll add one more thing no one has mentioned... the parking sensors can pick up curb stones in front of the car so you donā€™t crush the front lip.

I agree it's worth it. I turn everything on low settings. One feature that I don't like is the automatic braking when reversing. That is turned off.

It does take some time to get acclimated to all the modern safety systems but it's worth every penny. I had a similar experience in my X3 and turned off all the "wheel shaking" options. I'd say the blindspot monitoring is most important since visibility is so bad on the passenger side.

I like them. I have them on another car as well and find them all handy. Seems to me the main function is to make it safer while texting

I'm probably in the minority here, but I just don't like adaptive cruise control so I wish I could turn off the "adaptive" part. I also turned off lane assist.

So you prefer to manually readjust your speed or tap your brakes to disable cruise if the car ahead of you slows down?

That's not what I'm saying at all and there are other options besides what you listed, like not slowing down at all or making a pass. It basically boils down to not having my speed dictated by other people so I can decide what I want to do and not have the car decide for me.

Um, by turning cruise control on you're doing exactly that. If a car brakes in front of you, you have to slow down no matter if you brake, or the car does. It boils down to the same thing, you slowing down dictated by other people. If you don't like that, then just don't use cruise control. But you'll still be braking if they're slowing down in front of you regardless if there's no room to pass.

I like how people chime in like I donā€™t understand how it works and thatā€™s why I donā€™t like it. I understand how it works, I understand what it does, and I donā€™t like it. If you like it, great, enjoy it. But I donā€™t. So, ā€œum,ā€ thanks.

Thanks everyone who provided feedback to this thread. One of the dealers Iā€™m working with called to see if they should attempt an allocation trade, but the 3.0 Premium they were looking at did not have the drive assist package. This will not be my daily, but I would drive it for work (in the field and have to cover all of NC + some of southern VA by car). I was concerned about the blind spots and the rear cross trafficā€¦ I drive a lifted Wrangler now (which Iā€™ll be keeping)ā€¦ but Iā€™m used to just running over shit because of the 37ā€ MTs ;).

I donā€™t use any of the features (car has all of them). The heads up display is super distracting and the lane departure is flat out dangerous

I stand corrected (yes itā€™s worth it). I forgot about the parking features! I canā€™t keep the adaptive cruise on due to my yearning to pass everyone in front of me.

I've never had issues with the lane departure. How is it dangerous? Drive in the lines or signal when leaving the lain.

I'm pretty sure all Australian Supras get the safety pack as standard.

I hate lane assist with a passion. It's the first thing I turn off in every car I drive but especially this one as I want to do the driving. And I guess I just find it unnerving that the car wants to take control. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø

All the other safety features are great, especially the blind spot monitoring - the whole damned car is a blind spot lol.
