Thank you sir! Sounds like i just unplug the ASD module plug, and it’s a done deal. No errors or electrical drain from the unplugging

Another option to consider which doesn't require using Bimmercode...

You can also remove the plug from the ASD module to disable it which doesn't require any coding at all...This only takes 15 min to remove 2 panels, unplug the ASD module, and reinstall panels...

I found using Bimmercode much quicker & easier.

Have you actually done both?

I've done both ways and one is really not that much more difficult or time consuming than the other....The biggest difference is disconnecting the ASD plug is free and doesn't require purchase of Bimmercode and OBDII module....

Good points, however, Bimmercode is such a convenience for a multitude of other personal preferences, its worth much more than the cost(s). Too, there is a confirmed disconnect (now scoped) with Bimmercode.

I, personally, have made 15+ alterations to applicable ECUs which really made a big difference.

Yea I get it...I've used Bimmercode extensively over the past 8 months and have made numerous changes...what I don't like after programming is having to go back and reset all my fav settings....LOL

But for those that simply want to disable ASD and don't want to code this is a cheap easy option...

btw...I currently have ASD coded out as well and confirmed it is truly disconnected......

if anyone decides to do this will you please take picture or video as you go. I tried going by this but, I could not even get the back piece off after removing the bolts and the clips, didn't want to pull to hard and break something. Thanks

After you remove the screws and front clips you simply need to pull up on the panel to release the clips...don't be afraid, they won't break...

Pro Tip: you need to pull or peel back the upper rubber hatch gasket that goes over the top of the panel or you won't be able to pull up properly to remove....

Old thread but if I disable ASD with BimmerCode and want it back am I able to revert it? I saw in another thread someone saying it wasn’t possible to turn it back on.
